Presidential candidate Julián Castro stated during the "2020 Presidential Gun Safety Forum" that the idea of a good guy with a gun being a solution to shootings has been "shattered."
The former Secretary of Housing and Urban Development pointed to the recent shooting in El Paso, Texas, where a gunman drove ten hours to a Walmart to target Latino shoppers.
"This idea of a good guy with a gun versus a bad guy with gun has been totally shattered," Castro said. "This guy must've known that in Texas, where you have open carry, you have concealed carry, you have campus carry, one of the highest rate of gun ownership, that shooter knew he was walking into a place where a lot of people were carrying. And that didn't make a difference."
"So this argument that some have made to suggest that the answer is more guns, to me, over and over again, not only in El Paso, but time and again, that has been debunked," Castro added.

The reality of it occurs almost every day!
Except the El Paso Walmart was not a typical stand-alone store, it was part of a Simon Properties Mall, and Simon Properties does not allow carry of any kind.
Probably a primary reason why the perp chose that store.
Epic fail by Castro.
The boy's living in a dream world. Or he's a liar. Or both.
So, police must be disarmed - because they are not good guys.
It was a gun free zone.
And if you really think that nobody was carrying in that mall then you're naïve. It was Texas after all.
To extend his logic, the responding cops should have gone in unarmed.

Castro is saying this guy traveled long distance to Texas to carry out his evil deed, and that proves the open carry wasn’t enough to dissuade the perp from doing his evil in the first place.
He doesn’t take into account the guy was stupid. So is Castro.

I know enough about him to where whenever I see Castro (or his DOXXing brother), I think “Liar”, someone I should never trust.
