When Democrats say America must “do something” about global warming, they never fully explain what that “something” is. Instead, they talk in nebulous terms about “cutting back” on the use of fossil fuels. There’s a reason they obfuscate. If voters find out what they have in mind, they’ll be routed in 2020, and they know it.
Having embraced the extreme “do something” plan known as the Green New Deal, Democrats have an nasty surprise in store for voters who haven’t looked beneath the lipstick and mascara that’s being troweled on in pancake-thick layers to conceal the linchpin of their plan to “save the planet”: a massive punitive tax on the consumption of fossil-fuel energy.
Just how big a tax do the UN-worshiping Democrats have in mind? They desperately don’t want you to know, but there’s a way to read the tea leaves. You might want to sit down for this, because what you’ll learn in the next paragraph will leave your jaw on the floor.
As reported by Forbes, a United Nation’s special climate report calls for a global carbon tax of $49 per gallon of gasoline within 12 years. You read that right: $49 per gallon. At roughly 100 times the average state and federal gasoline tax, the UN’s carbon tax “suggestion” would raise the cost of a 13-gallon fill-up to over $600, just for the carbon tax.
Think about the economic implications of that. The mega-rich climate shills who bellow the loudest about the alleged perils of global warming can easily absorb a gasoline tax of that magnitude. But what about the roughly 125 million typical American households that can’t?

My favorite chapter is the one entitled the "20th Century Motor Corporation". It details the difference between a free enterprise corporation started by a man who ends up passing away and leaves the company to his kids who are socialist, lazy bums. Of course, they run the company into the ground and put it out of business.
I've been thinking about reading the entire book again because of Trump. He epitomizes the good guys in the book as opposed to the bad guys, the liberals. They are referred to by different labels in the book but the message couldn't be clearer.

It’s ok. They’ll just raise the minimum wage to $75 an hour. For everyone of working age or younger, whether they work or not. We seniors will be on our own. So we’ll gladly opt for the euthanasia option, over starving or freezing to death. Be at ease; soylent green.
Much of the world still travels by bicycle. Or walking. Wouldn’t be a bad idea, if you’re not FORCED to do it. Do people in the U.K. still have a high percentage of cycling?

In the summer, many of the workers would rush home at quitting time where their wives would have the family car loaded so that all the man had to do is jump out of his “go to work” beater into the family car and off they would go with the kids to the beach.
Human nature being what it is, I am confident this scene was repeated all over the country, although the destination would vary according to where they lived.
In this area, a four to five hour trip.
I don’t think AOC and Gore will be very popular when voters find out that their nutty ideas will end that pleasure.

The last one I took was Easter weekend 1950. I swore that if I ever got off the **** thing I would never get on another.
And they want to smash everyone into “sustainable” cities as per Agenda 2021 and 2030. With a $600 fillup, most of middle class would not be able to afford to commute.
Oh, really? Where, exactly, would they drive with the streets in flames and gangs of armed bandits swarming any vehicle on the road to take its gasoline?

These delusional greens have no idea what trying to run a modern economy without fossil fuels or petroleum products would entail. I may disagree with many in that I think it is possible, I do not think it would be desirable. Without nuclear power, electricity would only be available from hydro, burning wood, or for those where demand would be low enough for storage to be practical wind and solar. With electricity unaffordable for the masses their only way to heat their houses and cook their food would be wood with severe negative effects on air quality near any concentration of people.

I think there is one more step (I agree with your above); the last step is the WORLD WIDE CHINESE STATE. I believe the Chinese will look at the Islamist dream state, laugh, and obliterate it. I predict this will all occur before the year 2200.

It already costs me $900.00 to fuel my dump truck, that will go to $16,000 for 1 fill up (about 4 days worth). I hope people like paying $200+ a yard for aggregate. World wide economies will return to prehistoric times. The forests will be stripped just for survival. I could go on but you get the point. The planet will end up a lifeless desert.

The fact that everyone has the ability to travil about, even fly from one nation to another, is driving the super rich crazy.. The world needs to save that fuel for THEM, and them only.. They couldn't care less if gasolene was a $100 a gallon...
