Sunday, during the roundtable portion of NBC’s “Meet the Press,” Wall Street Journal columnist Peggy Noonan warned the Hunter Biden side of the Trump impeachment story, which she called “the story of the swamp,” puts the younger Biden on the wrong side of the American people.
Partial transcript as follows:
CHUCK TODD: Peggy, it is — the Biden campaign has been trying to find that balance between trying to mitigate the damage that they think Trump’s doing and at the same time not letting Trump dictate the message. But Trump’s been dictating the message.
NOONAN: Yes, Trump is the president. He has that megaphone. I think Joe Biden, for the past two weeks, has been a little on the back of his heels over this issue, not sure how to address it, not sure what exactly precisely to defend and what to concede. But I have to tell you Cornell, I disagree with you a little bit. I don’t think this is merely a “muddy the water” story. This is a story that at least half the American people understand the Hunter Biden story as a story of the swamp, the elite, buddy-buddy-ism, using your family influence to do well in life. The American people don’t like it. They have never liked it. And it is —
TODD: So how does it come from the Trumps though? Like, it’s sort of an awkward charge coming from the Trumps. But you say with a Cheshire cat smile.
NOONAN: Well, was that a Cheshire cat smile?
TODD: Yeah —
NOONAN: I’m so relieved to hear it was. That’s an interesting question, I think is how I’d respond to your question.

The Swamp may be “just” embedded bureaucrats, but it’s corrupt people like Biden, Kerry, Hillary and their children who keep funding it in exchange for being kept in power.
Peggy says “my swamp is good, their swamp is bad”
Even if his son, Hunter, was not involved with Burisma what Joe Biden did on his own authority to bribe a foreign government to fire an officer of their court system is illegal. The Hunter story resonates with the envy and resentment of the rich and powerful crowd (hence the predictable comparison with the Trumps) but it obscures the real crime of what Joe Biden bragged about doing to corrupt the officials of another sovereign country using taxpayer funds.
Yeah, That's partially what I was thinking.
Hunter isn't the Swamp...... Because he is neither elected politician, appointed official or hired bureaucrat or registered lobbyist. And yeah, Joe is a corruptocrat, but I'd classify him as Swamp as well. You don't spend 47 years as a Senator / Vice President / campaigning for President in D.C. without being part of the Swamp.
Hunter is is merely the beneficiary of corruptocrat / Swamp money via his father. I doubt he could be part of the swamp even if he wanted to be. I doubt he is smart, or even with enough low cunningvto get elected or to get hired by the Deep State, much less become an 'operative'. He just gets the graft and bribes paid to his father deposited to his accounts so Joe can pretend to be 'clean'.
My goodness. Was there accidental electro-shock? Who woke up Peggy after sleep walking for twenty years?
So what Todd is saying is, if the charge comes from President Trump it is automatically invalid? Whereas if a Dem makes any allegation against a Republican or conservative, the basis of the charge is meaningless, it's the seriousness that counts. I see.... Heads you win, tails I lose.
BTW... does anyone watch the Sunday shows anymore? I mean they have become out and out shills for the Dems...
President Trump is showing the depth and pervasiveness of corruption in our government and career politicians. And people don't like what they're seeing, while at the same time they are backing The President for doing it.

Peggy Noonan should know something about the Swamp, she’s a part of it.
I also disagree that Hunter Biden is the swamp. He and his dad are crooks to be sure, but any more enriching yourself and family members with your ties to government is looked upon as a perk of elected office instead of real corruption. Look at the Obamas book deals, the Clintons foundation and $300K a pop speaking fees, etc. Half the country doesn’t even view that as shady.
This is just the marshy area at the edge of the swamp.
The Left does not distinguish between kids learning the honest family business and kids learning to live a life of crime and corruption.
