I say, let the consumer decide

I have LEDs for most of my lights, but I have a really nice Lutron dimmer sets for my kitchen, dining and foyer that are not compatible with LED, sure I can spend the bucks and replace each light switch at the cost of $50 each about 12 switches, or I can just replace the bulb with a normal bulb that I have stocks of right now. Since I built this house about 17 years ago, these lights have never burned out, the soft on and soft off dimming really do prolong the life of the bulbs.

Use the lowest wattage LED bulbs and you may not need a dimmer. With all LED’s in my house, my electric bills have nose dived.

I buy mostly LED bulbs too but it's my choice. WhileI find the light not as warm as the old styles, I save a ton of money on electricity. But I don't begrudge those who don't like LED and want to get the other type bulbs. Like you say, let the consumer decide. If nobody buys them anymore, they will come off the shelf and we won't need a government proclamation to make it so.
