'A bad look': Vindman's testimony while in uniform divides military community
Washington Examiner ^ | 8 November 2019 | Russ Read

Alexander Vindman’ s testimony in the House impeachment proceeding has stirred controversy among military members and veterans, some who view the Army lieutenant colonel as a patriot who is being unfairly targeted and others who think he is politicizing the military.

Vindman, the National Security Council’s top Ukraine expert, was thrust into the political spotlight when he testified before Congress on Oct. 29 as one of the few people who listened in on a July phone call between President Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

His appearance in uniform has been a point of contention for some. Military members detailed to the NSC typically wear suits, though Vindman gave his testimony in uniform.

“This is a bad look for him to be in uniform," an active duty military officer stationed at the Pentagon told the Washington Examiner. "He makes it look like the Army is behind this. Like the Army is pushing a coup."

Another officer was concerned that Vindman’s testimony veered too much into personal assessment.

“I don't care what he thinks, he's entitled to his opinion," the officer said. "But it's an opinion and he should give it without the uniform."

Guess I haven’t kept up on army uniforms. To my eye, the Dress Blues aren’t very becoming - but maybe that’s because Vindeman’s fat.

“Directly?” It is a stretch to even say that this indirectly relates to his job. I doubt he wears the uniform while at his present job.
In my experience, a particular situation determined that you either wear the uniform or you do not. There is no “right” to wear it. Never heard of a “uniform optional,” situation.
The son of a bitch was “out of uniform” while he was in uniform.

I've seen the Twitter feeds of some Resistance military officers.

Just now, I went and checked one of the more egregious ones that I know of.

He's deleted his Twitter feed. Things that make you go Hmmmmmmm...   thinking face

Deep State = Matt is a Captain in the US Army Reserve and a former officer of the Central Intelligence Agency. He was the Democrat candidate for Congress in 2010 in NY’s 29th Congressional District.

I've read that he DOESN'T wear the uniform while he's on the job.

How can someone so fat still be allowed in the military?

North was working for the National Security Council. LTC Vindman is working for the National Security Council. I don’t see the difference.

Matt Zeller shows his colors.
Whose side was he on in Afghanistan?

Oh, he was on the Democrat side!
Check him out before trusting him.
Vindman is no “patriot.”

RJS1950 already answered about "the difference".

RJS1950 wrote: If he had authorization to appear in dress uniform from his immediate commanders and to testify on a political issue then the commanders should be questioned. As far as is known, he had no authorization to take part in or testify regarding a political issue. Brennan is not in his chain of command.

He’s employed by the Department of the Army, detailed to the NSC. He works for the Army. Regardless, he would absolutely need to get permission to wear the uniform while being interviewed. Or the damn politicians told him to wear it in order for him to “look” credible.

- Vindman was not, and is not the top NSC Ukraine expert. He was pulled in because of his bias, and willingness to tow the line for the Obama/Clinton Administration objectives. (Moscow benefits)

- Vindman (part of a group of uniformed, but anti-American socialists), have been causing significant problems for Army intel since at least the early 2000’s. (personal experience)

- Vindman has again broken ranks with long standing Army regs.

- Vindman (and others) have accomplished within the DoD and Executive Branch, what Moscow and Beijing have long sought to do.

However, you cannot on all fronts call him a turncoat, as while wrapping himself in our uniform, he has not hidden his left wing ideological disdain for this country. From experience, he has flaunted it.

This gets to a significant much more broad problem.

Over the years, when these types caused problems, we have been told by investigators, it did not matter if a person was left wing, or even against everything we stand for, as long as they were honest about it.

I have even known U.S. Soldiers who came to the U.S.from Guatemala, Nicaragua, and Russia itself, who were given the uniform, and who were given TS/SCI, even while historically illiterate, and not loyal at all to the U.S. They were given these clearances because they were “honest” with investigators, and bilingual.

It became so bad during the last administration, any investigators were afraid to pursue ideological and loyalty lines of questioning, and were happy enough to just let some of these just watch videos regarding OPSEC.

It was that bad.

Or the damn politicians told him to wear it in order for him to “look” credible.

He'd still need to get permission from his superior officers, because Schitt and Nazi Pelosi are not the boss of him.

This is another "ABC Epstein" moment in "news" - because if the knowledge of who his superior officers are and if they gave permission could hurt Trump, we would have known all about it ten seconds later.

Kind of like ABC found out who made the "clip" in their internal video system, which was later acquired by another leaker.

Dress Blues became the Army Service Uniform in 2007, and the wear-out date for Army Dress Greens came in 2015.

I miss the dress greens. It was suitable for any coat-and-tie occasion in daytime and after six could be worn with a white shirt & bowtie, usually by enlisted.

Every time I see a general officer (or this creep) in dress blues before Congress, I want to ask them where’s the party afterward.

Vindman’s assigned to NSC; his duty uniform is civilian clothes. This spectacle was deliberate overkill and no uniform can hide his being a fat nerd with attitude.

I don’t disagree about being gone from the Army.

However, he is highly literate, has been given the “inside knowledge”, and is an absolute hero to the left wing brainwashed masses.

He will likely be given a high paying job, like known Marxist Bren and Clap, or run as a Democrat for office, like several other left wing officers have done.

ABC radio news today referred to him as a “decorated Lt. Colonel”. Are there any “undecorated” Lt Colonels.?

Decorated. Like a cake.

You don’t think the liberals feel fear?

What I am seeing is total desperation and the actions of people who are in a state of panic brought on by what they fear is coming there way via the FISA and Russia Collusion investigations.

I believe their intent is to hurl as much shit at Trump in the form of outright lies and misstatements (out of context)so when the reports drop they will claim the findings are strictly political and payback for democrats exposing Trumps crimes.

BTW, my guess is the IG and AG reports won’t be dropped until AFTER the House finishes up and either votes for impeachment or doesn’t.
