More likely a run of the mill nutjob than a Muslim.
...The 23-year-old male suspect, surnamed Kong, was detained about an hour later. Police said he carried out the attack as a revenge on society.

Well, theyll never let him be King Kong now!
Where’s shannon t watts and the moms against corrosive liquids? Maybe nannie bloomers is too busy buying shoe lifts or running (hahahahah) for president to fund that effort.
It’s weird. In Japan, sometimes, too:
When you have one of these knife guys who totally flip out.
Their target is often an elementary school or kindergarten.
Yonan is where a few years back they had a terrorist attack at a major train station.
Maybe they can him put him in stocks in a special cell near a zoo, then he can be DONKEY KONG.
With a special punishment, too.
With all the rules & controls in China, and having to live abnormally to obey them all, its no wonder some just snap.
Yes, it is a strange cultural pattern in the Far East. Angry psychopaths in the West seem to take out their anger against those who are their peers - coworkers, classmates. In China children (and usually the youngest among them) are often the target.
Mr. Kong is now in the care of the state, occupied with his duties as a future organ donor.
In this case, I’m OK with it.
I was thinking same thing too. What is going on to there?
“Muzzie?”
If so, that entire bunch might find out, once again, that they don’t live in a country where the government apologizes for their terrorism.
I'm not a China specialist, but I know a good bit about Asia in general, and a few parts in particular so I'll venture a wild guess.
China is very group centric, and such systems can work well for the great mass of people. Not quite for everyone, though, and for many of this small group it can feel oppressive and unaccomodating.
Picture a small, Chinese Steve Jobs in a propellor beanie cap, okay..?
"The Group is GOOD..!" type societies have a type of child-rearing format in which young people always being with and in the group, and being outside of it is bad.
The ones who aren't so hot on that are often cursed with the sharp feeling that Oppression Of Self Process began in the early part of the education system and later intensified.
Picture that little Chinese jobs writing, "Think Different" on a grainy black-and-white of Mao, then someone coming up and painting a big "X" across that, then shoving him back into a big, uniformed group chanting some song:
That produces an anger that is hard to describe.
So they remember and lash out at THAT.
I wonder sometimes who goes to these events to injure people after it's over.
Unfortunately not limited to a geographic location.
