That is a very interesting observation. Could those votes have been lost betwixt ballot box & counting in NOLA?

Not likely.

Orleans Parish votes Democrat at >85%.

Not necessarily. Some people don’t vote for down ballot races. They don’t think they matter as much. Yeah, it’s stupid. But that’s how some voters are.

So what likely happened is a lot of Democrats came out to vote for Bel Edwards and then left the rest of the ballot blank.

Same thing happens in presidential election years. Congress ALWAYS gets less total voters than the presidential race.

Thanks
I have no experience with past elections in LA.
After the Florida debacle I see fraud as a default and am glad to know it is not likely this time. Without a widespread belief in election integrity our system will devolve.

exactly right...it actually was 89.8% - 10.2% this time...

nice stats here: https://www.politico.com/election-results/2019/louisiana/governor/

I should have screen-shotted what I was seeing last night.

All Rispone’s parishes had completed their counts when orleans still was at 46% counted. Jefferson was at 50% counted and a few more RAT parishes were sitting @ 60%.
Granted, there were more polling places and more voters.
Might be standard as this is the first time I’ve looked closer at LA elections.
Just thought it was weird.

Thanks
I understand. But I trust very little especially when I see things that make one go hmmmm...maybe I am biased from what I've seen and therefore skeptical.
I come from an old RAT Chicago semi-political family, where they sat on the river wards votes (among others) until they could figure out what they needed.
I know, different time, different equipment, - same shenanigans...

More interesting than Orleans Parish are parishes in Acadia.

Very conservative areas that vote for the candidate that is most Cajun.

” I got flamed here saying it wad a very dumb move for Trump to be tweeting about her during her show Friday.

it was... mainly because it gave the media ammo and something to report on (since there was really nothing)....but if you dare point out anything negative about Trump (even if it is obvious) many here get..... TRIGGERED

interesting here re: orleans

There was around a 31% increase in overall voter turnout in the LA race vs 2015.

Republican turnout increased by 45%

Dem turnout increased by only 19.5%.

However, R turnout in Orleans Parish increased by a measly 2% whereas Dems increased by a magical 40%.

Interesting. pic.twitter.com/xicfDjETrY— Julian's Rum 🥃 (@JuliansRum) November 17, 2019

New Orleans was the big factor.

There are not all that many Republicans in Orleans Parish to increase turnout.

They are a non-factor in statewide races.

Some libs on Facebook were all excited a democrat won this but they backed off really fast when I told them Edwards was more conservative based on his pro-life and 2nd Amendment positions. The silence was deafening.

This election has nothing to do with impeachment.

This election has nothing to do with Trump

This election was about tribal politics in S. Louisiana.

I’m going by what Trump said himself at the rallies in Kentucky and Louisiana.

An example:

“You got to give me a big win, please, O.K.,”

It’s worth noting Trump will not be running against Edwards. Someone who would never get through a nation Dem primary. He’ll be running against someone who is palatable to the young Turks. Even itbhe were Trump would be focusing exclusively on this guy. Nation wide. 60 million people will watch him debate Trump. Things don’t happen in a vacuum. Problem with Trump trying to help now is he goes around telling people that XYZ person is a Trump guy and we all know that’s not the case. When Trump goes around the country prompting Trump and, MAGA and America First it’s an entirely different game

We might be looking at a Warren-Bel Edwards ticket.
