Those politicians and news reader bobble heads don’t get the rough and tumble business world; they’re just kids on a playground compared to someone in the real world.

“He also doesn’t use the smarmy talk of politicians. What you hear from Donald J. Trump is the blunt talk of a Manhattan businessman. He says what he means. He means what he says.”

In other words what Tom is saying is he is like the common folk in this country. Not the lying POS politicians of the government.

The money shot: "The National Defense Authorization Act that was passed in 2018 requires the president to certify that a country is rooting out corruption before the president can send that country taxpayer money."

So Trump was following the law.

That’s very true- I lived there most of my life and worked around people like him all the time. It may not have been great fun listening to - although Trump actually was a lot more moderate in his language than some - but that was just how they spoke. Actually, the worst were attorneys...the businessmen knew that at the end of the day they had to come to an agreement, so it was bluster. But the attorneys thought they were gods, and no agreement was necessary. In fact, I think they believed it was good to make everybody hate them. (BTW, many of the people in Congress have a law background.)

in 1974, I got my first job post college and it was in Manhattan.

I was raised in a small PacNW town and the language used daily in Manhattan was a surprise. It was the end of the Mad Men era as well. Quite an eye opener.

How Donald speaks and acts is no surprise. That's NYC standard.

Or to borrow a punchline from one of may favorite old jokes - they don't call a spade a spade. They call it a F’n shovel!

Second to Nunes, McClintock is my favorite politician from CA. He zeroes in on issues and describes them in salty and amusing terms. His election-time recommendations for CA ballot initiatives is not only right but it’s hilarious to read.

he believes it to be in the president's advantage for the president's attorneys to participate in the upcoming impeachment hearing

I think that's a load of steaming BS.

Attending would only legitimize their little circus. It would be full of traps and questions based on false premises designed to paint the President as their monster.

Screw 'em!

I wouldn't let them participate one minute in this clown show.
When it goes to trial in the Senate is when I would say lawyers should be present.
They get to treat hostile witnesses as the hostile witnesses they are there without the threat of being gaveled down by the Chair.

PDJT talks like a foreman on a construction site.

Which is sort of what he was before becoming president

Rep. McClintock Says Trump's Language Was the 'Blunt Talk of A Manhattan Businessman'

Partner, we have "Martha RedAss" asking questions. We thought she was thru making interviews.

"Martha RedAss" please take a walk before you interview anybody else on TV. "Martha RedAss" really needs to retire!

You up for some BLUNT TALK? Here ya go!
The most DERANGED president ever: DONALD TRUMP or LYNDON JOHNSON?
Answer: Lyndon Johnson by a country mile.
You can read the entire sordid story of this “man” at the link.
Please pass this along to any of the ladies you know who refused to support Donald Trump due to what they saw as vulgar language and behavior.  LBJ could have given Trump lessons in that area.
LANGUAGE WARNING: THE “F” word (and the act itself) and others were LBJ’s normal speech pattern.

"So you think they should bring in lawyers," Raddatz asked?

What an idiot question. But I love the understated reply:

Rep McClintock said, "I think it's to his advantage. Yes."
