The thing is that Sabbath is still Saturday not Sunday.
That’s why Saturday I various languages is Sobota (polski) etc.
Christian’s celebrate on the Lords day, Sunday, the day He rose from the dead
Hi. I listened to this whole series last weekend. If you can listen to it, I’d like to know if you think it’s fair and accurate?

What Do Seventh Day Adventists Believe 02 History of the SDA Movent

“What do Seventh Day Adventists believe? In this series were going to discuss the good, the bad and the ugly of SDA beliefs. Topics will include worshiping on the Sabbath, the investigative judgment of Christ, Satan as the scapegoat, Ellen G. White, and much more.”
The point is, to live as decent a life as you can.
Should we try to alleviate sin from our lives. According to Jesus Christ, yes.
Will we be successful at that? As flawed human beings no. That doesn’t not mean we aren’t tasked with living the best life we can, and throwing our fate to the promise of Jesus Christ to cover for our shortcomings via salvation through faith.
I don’t think there was a disciple or apostle alive that thought Christians had no obligation to avoid sin.
Will our works gain us heaven? Of course not. As flawed humans we will find a way to sin, or to adopt a favorite sin. We’re no better than Adam or Eve in that respect.
So in the end, we all fall on the mercy of Jesus Christ, but out of love for Him and what he taught, we will do our best to please Him.
Well, the belief that Jesus is an angel not God is kinda a bug so what
What day did Jesus keep? What day did He claim?
Mark 2:27,28 27 And he said unto them, The Sabbath was made for man, and not man for the Sabbath: 28 Therefore the Son of man is Lord also of the Sabbath.
My SDA neighbors were grilling on their deck last night. From the smell of it I think it was burgers.
Adventists believe keeping the Sabbath puts one under “law” is like saying a Baptist stays obeys the commandment not to commit adultery is under “law.”
It’s poor Bible scholarship. The Ten Commandments are the “moral” law, not a ceremonial law. The Sabbath was “made” by Jesus, at Creation. It predates the ten commandment, predates the Jew and it was blessed, sanctified and hallowed at the end of the first week after creation. It’s not a “shadow” pointing to Christ, had Adam never fallen, he’d still be keeping the Sabbath.
The Sabbath is eternal, God’s exclamation point on his perfect creation. It’s a weekly rebuke to evolution. And it no more burden to a person that any of the other 9 commandments that no Christian would ever challenge. Lying, Stealing? Killing? Worshiping other Gods?
And there it is......inserted right in the middle of the moral law written by God’s own finger.....in stone. Not in a book by Moses. It was placed in the ark of the covenant. And like all 9 other commandments, it won’t save anyone....but it’s a delight, a gift, a blessing and it’s for mankind. The response to grace is obedience.
The problem is not the “law” for these shallow Bible scholars. It’s that one fourth commandment in the law. If only that darn Sabbath wasn’t there. So they use the term “law” as all inclusive.....which means its ok to steal your newspaper I guess.
Poor Bible scholarship and ignorance.....you can’t beat em. Jesus was tested on the Sabbath more than any other commandment and he lifted it up, out of the mire of Jewish legalism and showed what it was for and said was it....The Sabbath was made for man. And No church and do away with it or change it to Sunday. And more and more people are discovering it......Isaiah talks about the repairer of the breach and it’s in the context of the Sabbath. Luther didn’t keep the Sabbath because he was dealing with the issue of his day.....righteousness by faith alone. But as we head into the last days of this soon to be destroyed world, God is revealing end time truths and one of them is.....the Sabbath rebukes both evolution and a tradition of man, not a commandment of God almighty. The Lord of the Sabbath.
The answer is:
“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness” (1 John 1:9).
Should we stone them?
Funny, it’s the ONLY Commandment that starts with the word “Remember” as if people would forget.
>>>Christians celebrate on the Lords day, Sunday, the day He rose from the dead>>>>
Let’s pretend we go back to the days of John and we ask him......John, what is the Lord’s day? Would John turn to the new testament? It hadn’t even been written yet. John would turn to the same scriptures Jesus and Paul quoted from. The Old Testament and John would tell us that in scripture, we read that God is the Lord and he calls the Seventh day Sabbath “my holy day.”
I can call Tuesday the Lord’s day but that don’t make it the Lord’s day. God is the Lord, and he calls the Sabbath “My holy day”......
It’s amazing if we let scripture interpret itself instead of a church committee. Jesus said he was Lord of the Sabbath too. Case closed.
That’s because there’s no hard fast rule about being a compliant vegetarian to be a member of the church.
The health guideline is out there for people to benefit from, if they choose to adopt it.
Studies have focused on vegetarians around the Loma Linda, California region, associated with the church.
It found that those living a vegetarian (not to be confused with vegan) lifestyle, did live longer than the national average, as a group.
You are so right. God knew the Sabbath would be forgotten and I can make a case that’s the cause of so many of our problems today.
So there’s no obligation on our part. Gotsha...
I guess Jesus was wrong then, as He instructed the adulterous woman to go and sin no more.
Thank you for clearing that up for us.
I never said they weren’t “good people” by the world’s standards. But there is only one gospel, and therefore only one way to salvation.
So, what other verses have you ripped out of your Bible because they don’t fit in your rationale?
Jesus was speaking to the woman in a purely Jewish context where obedience to the Law was the only way a person could be saved. If they failed, there were sacrifices and the day of atonement.
It’s called “rightly dividing the word of truth.”
Good thing I read the replies before posting.
Youre right and you said it better!
I have heard Ravi Zacharias discussing the Saturday Sabbath and how/why the switch was made, but Ive not found it online.
I was also looking to see which day Jesus actually rose.
World Tomorrow has a program or two with a good day by day breakdown for the timeline of days and events recorded, but I havent found that yet either.
The Saturday Sabbath is what it is and it goes back to Genesis In the beginning long before being written in stone.
Are you sure that Sunday, the first day of the week, is the day He rose?
