The problem with the BBC is a little more challenging than defunding NPR.
Its like us defunding CNN/MSNBC, VOA, PBS, Discovery, Science Channel and every terrestrial AM/FM station.
As skewed as they are against the right whats going to pick up the slack for foreign service and the native language radio broadcasts?
Thats one valid thing I think they do as well as the VOA, RFE, RL and maybe even better.
Grew up listening to The BBC World Service on Shortwave.
I was saddened to learn on my recent trip to London that they’ve turned Bush House into a college. I would have loved to go on a tour there back in the day.
The British people despise the BBC collection agents.

None of the other channels are funded by enforced taxation and they are thriving; have been doing so for decades.
There is NO seperate tax, in America that funds PBS, NPR, etc., that money ( which needs to stop being given them ) is fungible money from our income taxes, which can be far better used on building THE WALL, upgrading our military, better stuff for VA hospitals, and other such things.
FYI...prior to the whole PBS thing, channel 13 in NYC ( which is part of the PBS spiderweb ) was an independent network, that had fantastic shows, which NO taxes funded. And before any putdowns, I have always watched 13 and other PBS channels ( when I was living outside of that area ) and have seen it go waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay downhill. If it weren't for the Brit shows ( which have also gone downhill, BADLY, in recent years ) PBS would be worthless and unwatchable; except for a couple of American cooking shows.
