Hartford Financial Services Group Inc. said Friday that it will no longer insure or invest in companies that generate more than 25% of their revenue from thermal coal mining, or more than 25% of their energy production from coal.

*snip*

"The world needs affordable, accessible energy to support global economic progress and, at the same time, action is needed to mitigate the impact such activity has on our climate," said Chief Executive Christopher Swift.

> Communists hijacked the term “liberal” <

And the term “progressive”, by the way. I just hate it when the media says something like: “Progressive Senator Elizabeth Warren proposes a new law.”

It makes me want to scream. In fact, I used to actually scream. But that frightened my neighbors. So I had to tone things down a bit.

> The market will fill the void.

I don’t think so, Finance and insurance are more like a cartel than a free market.

But they’ll insure transgender surgery I’ll bet.

This is utter madness and smacks of outright fascism.

But of course transgender surgery is covered! That’s virtue signaling at its finest. And in the court of public opinion, all of us are called to support these surgeries, otherwise be condemned as “transphobic”.

They can take their place along side Dicks and watch their customers go elsewhere.

Banks and insurance companies should be banned from dictating energy choices — or any other lawful consumption or political choices. Due to entry barriers, the marketplace is not going to cure this type of discrimination

Stupid people have infiltrated the company; Travelers, Cigna, Aetna and the rest are not exempt from criticism..

Eliphalet Terry [The Hartford]is rolling in his grave.

Hartford, CT used to be the "Insurance Capital of the World"....I doubt if the title still stands today, as many of the corporate headquarters have moved from Hartford.

“”The world needs affordable, accessible energy to support global economic progress and, at the same time, action is needed to mitigate the impact such activity has on our climate...”

And the loons at Hartford probably do not realize what they just said.

Let’s challenge them to make some of that “...affordable and accessible energy without coal...” If they cannot, they can submit themselves to be processed into energy themselves.

Oh well, we now have proof that STEM was on their college list of courses to stay well away from lest they receive Fs.

My sources tell me that, starting next year, Hartford will only insure cars that are wind-powered.

Guess that leaves out companies with interests in China, India and other coal consumers

Oregon, Washington, and Montana are shutting off all their coal plants. Brown outs are expected in 4 to 6 years.

Small step on the way to eliminating what the left says it hates: energy taken from under the ground.

Cut ‘em off. Cut ‘em off now! If any of their facilities are powered by electricity that comes from coal-fired plants, cut ‘em off.
