Noah Horowitz, director of the Natural Resources Defense Councils center for energy efficiency standards, assailed the move, saying the administration had just thumbed its nose at Congress, Americas families and businesses, and the environment.

I suspect Mr. Horowitz is not a neutral party, I wonder who pays him.
How about:
Trump Administration Restores Freedom of Choice for Light Bulbs.
Yes. That's better.
The Prez at one of his recent rally’s, said the new light bulbs makes him look orange. LOL
Wait until that Mercury starts accumulating at dump sites.
The times of course spun this the worst way possible.
It should have said “Trump allows consumers to make the choice of what lightbulbs to buy. Today Trump canceled the rule outlawing incandescent bulbs.”
The newer bulbs are more expensive to purchase, but last longer and use less energy than incandescent. But the choice should be the consumer’s, not the government’s.
But they didn’t. Naturally, they used this to trash the man they hate, Trump.
New York Times is anti-choice.
Yes I can purchase another carton of hundreds. I have too many 60s and 40s and not enough 100s. anyone know where one can get a case of contractor bulbs these days??
Mr horror nitwits can go to hell.
Amazon, of course.
An article of his: https://www.nrdc.org/stories/stealthy-energy-saver
NRDC was founded in 1970 by a group of law students and attorneys at the forefront of the environmental movement. Mostly woman-led. Leonardo DiCaprio and Julia Louis-Dreyfus are on the board. Nuff said.
Let the markets work.
Oh gee, thanks NYT for letting us know Dan's background, but why didn't you tell us about Noah's background? Hmmmmmmm?
“...and require Americans to use energy-efficient light bulbs”
Anytime you read the word “require” or “mandate” you know someone is making or is going to make a sh*tload of money.
“The group has estimated that the administrations action could cost American consumers an extra $14 billion on annual energy bills.”
But they ignored additional cost of the light bulbs...which have a history of not paying for themselves due to earlier-than-planned failures.
Good point . All these activists are funded by somebody to push their cause. These folks are nothing but paid stooges selling an idea meant to control society and not solve the problems they say they are .
no 1000lightbulbs
Now, let’s do something about the 1.6 gallons/flush commodes.
“But they ignored additional cost of the light bulbs...which have a history of not paying for themselves due to earlier-than-planned failures.”
Those halogen light bulbs give off a decent light but are comparatively expensive and don’t last long at all.
