So you’re saying that Dershowitz could also face opposition from the Hillary camp? I could see that. Dershowitz must walk a very fine line here. Or suffer a fatal case of Arkancide.

Even if it is just a perception of a problem, it is a problem. I much prefer Jonathan Turley, myself...assuming he has no Epstein problem.
I sure hope that’s accurate, because Dershowitz is one of maybe five old-fashioned liberals I still have any respect for — or, more to the point, who say anything worth listening to.
And one of them, Pat Caddell, died just a few months ago.
Dershowitz cleverly came out in defense of Trump and muted much of the criticism about his Epstein problem.
His is probably a pedophile and his story about his relationship with Epstein is full of contradictions.
All of Trumps witnesses can be blocked with 51 votes. Even if you could get the subpoenas and win all the court challenges, I'm sure there are enough squishy Republicans who will vote to block witnesses like Biden, Schiff, etc. As much as we would all love to see it, this trial is going to be about Trump, and ONLY Trump. It will be narrowly focused on the articles of impeachment. With that, a quick trial and acquittal is the way to go.

He also has an Epstein problem.
If being accused makes someone guilty, then yes, Dershowitz has the same Epstein problem as the Clintons.
But Dershowitz strikes me as a painstakingly honest guy.
The Clintons are proven liars.

We need to be careful about what we say here.
I did see an interview with Dersh a few weeks ago on Fox, when the Epstein matter was brought up. I was not at all satisfied with his performance and found that he very astutely pivoted to a different topic when Epstein was brought up. I can’t conclude anything about that, except that Dershowitz clearly did not want to discuss it.
Dersh is obviously a brilliant legal mind, but he is against us on many issues.
I hope the President is getting good advice.

Alan Dershowitz is an academic and a columnist/talk-show guest at best. He is not a practical lawyer. He thinks clients are there to give him something to strut his stuff about over at SCOTUS. This would be a mistake. You need a warrior, not a theorist.
He proved that he was not in the same place at the same time as the woman who accused him of rape. Her lawyers publicly admitted that their filings against him were a “mistake” and withdrew them.
Why was he at the island?
Epstein was his client.
Isn’t that a bit irrelevant to proving with unassailable documentation that he was not in the same place at the same time as his accuser? Probably not to you.
By that standard Trump is toast and so are all conservatives.
My comments on this matter have been super reasonable. Your reaction is unreasonable (to be charitable).
But don’t be concerned about what I think...ask the average person on the street, say blue collar, what they think of any lawyer representing an accused pedophile.
Dersh’s reaction on Fox looked a lot to me like someone who wanted to change the subject. Is he the guy we want representing the President? I know what I think.
I am not saying Dersh is guilty of anything btw. Just that given the perception of Trump by some on the fence, and the fact that he is riding high post-BS impeachment, the last thing he needs is a Clinton friend with Epstein connections representing him.
Surely there are some good attorneys who are Trump supporters out there. What about someone like Herb Titus (not necessarily him though)?

Again, it really does not matter what I think, but others might think that your advocating for an accused pedophile’s representation over the future of the Presidency as being rather odd.

I have no idea how that reply seems like it was personal to me but I certainly don’t care what “people on the street” think.
Trump’s been accused of a lot of things for what that line of reasoning is worth.
