D’s will not remain united in the Senate for this.
Nancy Pelosi is refusing to send the articles of impeachment to the Senate because she accomplished what she wanted when the democrats in the House voted to accuse Trump of abuse of power and obstruction of Congress. Her intention was to defame President Trump. It does not matter to her or any of the democrats whether it goes to the Senate or not. She will hold them until public sentiment turns against her. Then and only then will she let them go.
