Utah Republican Sen. Mike Lee declared in a heated press conference Wednesday afternoon that national security officials had just delivered the "worst military briefing" he had ever seen on Capitol Hill, even claiming that one official had warned during the "lame" and "insane" meeting that Congress shouldn't debate whether additional military action against Iran would be appropriate.
Democrats piled on, with Virginia Democratic Rep. Gerald E. Connolly calling the briefing "sophomoric and utterly unconvincing." Minnesota Democratic Rep. Ilhan Omar, for her part, asserted that she has been "stricken with PTSD" due to recent developments and condemned President Trump's new sanctions against Iran as "economic warfare." (Omar and her family fled war-torn Somalia and spent years in a refugee camp.) Rep. Jim Banks, R-Ind., called her comments "a disgrace and offensive to our nation’s veterans who really do have PTSD," prompting Omar to respond, "I survived war as a child and deal with post-traumatic stress disorder—much like many who have served or lived through war. It’s shameful that you as a member of Congress would erase the PTSD of survivors."
Lee made clear that his response was directed primarily at the classified briefing for lawmakers on the Iran situation and not the White House's Iran policy generally -- but, he said, the slapdash sit-down would have consequences.

Mike Lee knows very well whats going on.
The senate briefing team led by Po,peo would not go into detail or allow conjecture on conflict statud triggering a necessity or Congress to Act simply because it would:
`1) hog tie the ability for rapid accurate response
2) Allow leakers on the Senate committee to anonymously selectively leak secret intel to the MSM as political ammunition to invest in the impeachment process.
Kudos to President Trump and his team for putting the lives of America’s soldiers and other personnel first.
Mike Lee should go back and make sure that any potential leakers( like Blumenthal) are made so fearful that they would anticipate indictment and jail if they leaked secure , secret intel to the press.
I am sure that if the Senators could keep security on intel data, then they would have the very detailed briefing Lee is caterwauling about.
He whined that the briefers refused to discuss sensitive information, even though the briefing was in a “secure” enclave. (I would like to personally thank the President for this!)
This has to be one of the most moronic comments ever to come out of the mouth of an “R” who pretends he’s a conservative. I think the “R” in his case stands for “Romney”
As for Rand Paul, he has a history of losing his mind when it comes to foreign policy. Though it makes me sick, it doesn’t surprise me to see him on the same side as Tim Kaine, Ilan Omar, and AOC.
for crying out loud- Our president not only has to battle terrorists, and battle liberals constantly, but apparently also has to battle republicans like lee who won’t support him? That’s just what this embattled president needs right now- Lee- we din’t go to war- We were DEFENDING ourselves against Rogue TERRORISTS- when we go to declare war- you in congress will be duly noted- calm the hell down!
The thing we have to realize this every single day of every new cycle is managed by the globalist forces. of course they always have the Democrats but they also have their select Republicans like Romney and Lee.. when Trump appears to have won the day and has momentum they are called up to take their shots and give the baby up attempts to show that all sides are disappointed with Trump

Nice idea but Lee now has the power of incumbency and doesn’t care. Lee is treating GOP base voters no better than Democrats treat blacks.
The problem is Bernie Sanders and The Code Pink Republicans undermine the military, our constitution and Donald Trump. Mike Lee used to be a conservative but is now a radical libertarian. They think we should declare full-on war or withdrawl. As heard on the Mark Levin Show.
I don’t see much need for Hill AFB in Utah if we’re going to follow Lee’s arnchair isolationism program. I’m sure Lee will be fine with closing it and cutting the defense budget.
