Odds on her virginity?
= = =

Odd, all right.

She could be violated, and still be a virgin.

Sacrifice an autistic eco-virgin to Mother Erf?

Might work. I’m not aware of any effective modern volcano suppression methods. Might as well try old school.

During the later part of the 1754 eruption...

“Between 3 and 4 o’clock in the afternoon of the said 29th, it began to rain mud and ashes at Caysasay (12 miles or 19 kilometres from the volcano) and this rain lasted three days. The most terrifying circumstance was that the whole sky was shrouded in such darkness that we could not have seen the hand placed before the face, had it not been for the sinister glare of incessant lightnings. Nor could we use artificial light as this was extinguished by the wind and copious ashes which penetrated everywhere.

All was horror those three days, which appeared rather like murky nights and we did not occupy ourselves with anything but see to it that the natives swept off the roofs the large quantities of ashes and stones which kept on accumulating upon them and threatened to bring them down upon us, burying us alive beneath their weight. But fearing that even these precautions might prove unavailing, we 3 Europeans – viz. Fr. Prior, the Alcalde, and myself – the only ones who were at the time in the Convento of Caysasay, took refuge on the landing of the stairs; as the safest place, and awaited there whatever God might dispose with regard to us. To all this was added incessant thunder and lightning, and it really looked as if the world was going to pieces and its axis had been displaced.”

That was one funny movie. Oh, wait. It wasn't intened to be a comedy? :)

Linda Hamilton as the lady mayor was early middle-aged and still kind'a cute.

As a chick, I'll have to take your word for that : )

Pierce Brosnan - I will say that that he was a hottie (no pun intended?) back in the day, but that still couldn't make up for the shear stupidity of the movie. But it wasn't as bad as Volcano that came out the same year. That movie was really, really, really bad.

Just called that guy and talked to him. Said that he learned that there is extreme ground deformation going on there and that it doesnt look good.

So it looks as if the show is about to begin.

It probably wouldn’t work, but at least it would rid us of her.

It wouldn’t hurt to buy some more food staples. If this thing turns out to be really bad and cause a “year without summer”, food prices will go up.

BTW, a couple of things. I wonder if that thing pops if we will be able to hear it?

And how much will it reduce the earths temps? Pinatubo reduced it by about 1 degree? Is that right?

That, with the reduction of solar activity..

When Krakatoa went off in the late 1800’s the sound was heard something like 2,500 miles away. I don’t recall how far Mt. Saint Helen’s was heard from. Although I do recall that right near the blast there was no sound! Something to do with the air temperature increase due to the blast, and the sound was projected upwards.
