From what I've read these two groups vote like teenagers do...they don't.

Besides, being "Latino" may or may NOT mean a legal voter.

The consistent voters are +40 year olds. They care because they are working and paying taxes. They have a vested interest in this country.

Latinos MAY or MAY NOT have that same interest.
"Native Americans" can live on a reservation, paid for by us.

REALITY: The people who call themselves native American Indians are not native, American or Indians.

1. DNA doesn't lie and they are, racially, the descendants of those ORIENTAL ASIANS who migrated across the Bering Straits THOUSANDS of years ago.
They have the Oriental DNA which shows a deficiency in acetyl dehydrogenase, which is why the "native American Indians" have such trouble with "fire water," alcohol. That enzyme deals with alcohol.

2. They weren't even the "first" Americans. The first were NOT Oriental Asians; they were Caucasians. If they were Oriental Asians they would have had ROUND heads but they had oval shaped heads, like Europeans.
Those first Americans hunted the mammoth elephant. They dug huge traps and drove them into the pits. As the hunters went in for the kill occasionally the elephant killed one of them...thus the bones of those ancient hunters...Caucasians.

3. And they are NOT Indians. The only Indians are from India.

However they COULD all vote if they registered to vote. That is their right as Americans. I haven't missed a vote since I was old enough to vote.

I lived in Mexico and Saudi Arabia and got voting materials sent to us.
Since we WEREN'T living in the USA we could only vote on the national issues...the presidency.

That’s like saying you’re (cloudmountain) not American now since your ancestors came from another country to settle here. Well we’re Americans now. We live in North America.

Time for the GOP to run minorites. We had in recent years JC Watts and Gary Frank, and Ben Nighthorse Campbell. Asians? I’m not sure who is...

“I see many on this thread have no clue about New Mexico.”

True. You see the usual remarks about casinos, firewater and bingo. Conservative minorities are running. They are worth the support.

Back in 2004 I was volunteering full time to the County GOP. There were a surprising number of people on the Mescalero Reservation that are fairly conservative and capitalistic.

I’d guess that their Tribal Chairman for years, Wendell Chino, passed on his business acumen and showed them that they needn’t ‘live on the dole’ of whatever the folks in D.C. were willing to give them.

I don’t know if that would work on the Navajo Reservations, although the volunteer lady that I was partnered with on ‘door knocking’ on the Res. was actually a Navajo that married into the Apache tribe.

"...New Mexico Republicans will embark on an aggressive strategy to win over Hispanic and Native American voters in 2020...

Gee, I would have thought they would first appeal to Polish and Chinese-American voters in New Mexico.../s

That’s like saying you’re (cloudmountain) not American now since your ancestors came from another country to settle here. Well we’re Americans now. We live in North America.

AMEN.

1. The FALSE "native Americans" got many, many benefit$$ because of that error/lie.
2. They used that error/lie to "poor me" the rest of us out the wazoo.
3. They, and other bleeding hearts, made the nasty ole WHITE MAN the villain of their pity party.
4. Their FALSE claim that they were the FIRST Americans was another ploy for statu$.
They got and STILL get FREE housing on reservations for that lie. Why should they get FREE housing?

They DID get many diseases from the horrible old white man but that was due to their isolation for so long. They did exterminate each other in endless wars. They had slavery as well.
They had NO horses until the Spaniards brought them in.
They deserve NO privilege for the lie.

They did contribute to the US-Japanese war effort by doing reconnaissance for the American army. They used their own Indian language that the Japanese COULDN'T understand--the CODE talkers.
The name code talkers is strongly associated with bilingual Navajo speakers specially recruited during World War II by the US Marine Corps to serve in their standard communications units of the Pacific theater. Code talking, however, was pioneered by the Cherokee and Choctaw peoples during World War I.

They are AMERICANS and one day they might even believe it. I hope so.
