U.S. Senator Susan Collins said on Monday the case for calling witnesses in President Donald Trump’s Senate impeachment trial had been strengthened by a New York Times report on a book manuscript by former Trump adviser John Bolton.
“The reports about John Bolton’s book strengthen the case for witnesses and have prompted a number of conversations among my colleagues,” Collins said in a statement she posted to Twitter.

There has been 1 impeachment to date that wasn’t centered around a President over policy, and that was Clinton’s....
Johnson was impeached because he fired the secretary of the Navy I believe after congress explicitly wrote, passed and overrode a veto, that stated He could not do so... He did it anyway... was impeached for it.. but not removed... 1 vote saved him from removal.
That was when the Nation should have realized, POLICY DIFFERENCES are NOT impeachable offenses for a President, and long been respected.
Clinton BROKE THE LAW, HE LIED UNDER OATH, HE ENCOURAGED OTHERS TO LIE UNDER OATH FOR HIM... let alone the defaming of the Oval Office, and taking advantage of and underling. He deserved his impeachment, and should have been removed from office. The man directing and in charge of all federal law enforcement lied under oath, and tampered with witnesses, and obstructed justice. He DESERVED HIS IMPEACHMENT AND SHOULD HAVE BEEN REMOVED.
Trump’s impeachment is not an crime impeachment at all, unlike Johnsons who at least had a hack law they could claim was broke, there is no law that has been broken, this is all POLICY DISAGREEMENT... nothing more...
So there has been in the history of the US, Truly 1 IMPEACHMENT for TRUE CRIMINALITY, not POLICY BASED... and that was Clinton’s.

Bolton is not naive to the ways of Washington and partisan politics. He has thrust himself in the impeachment story several times in ways that are unnecessary, but help the Democrats. The idea that he is writing a book about this issue, after the impeachment, and before the trial is irresponsible and deliberately harmful to the president.
Bolton has burned his bridges to the GOP. He will not be welcome in any future administration because he does not know when to keep his mouth shut, or about which things to shut it.
Collins was always going to vote for witnesses.
It is quite AMAZING that they are politicians with NO PRINCIPLES, just middle of the road MUSH all the way NOTHING to fight for or against just which ever way the wind blows AND they all know the MSM sets the wind direction!!! On this however Bolton was GONE before this call ever took place Trumps legal team needs to hit this fact home!!!!

He sent his lawyer out to say that apparently his book manuscript was leaked to the NY Times, which is about as much of a confirmation as you could want, isn't it?
Mr. Bolton should tell the nation what he has to say, either rebutting the NY Times story, or confirming his alleged statements. Why play into the Democrat's scam unless he supports it?
