U.S. Republican Senator Lindsey Graham, a vocal ally of President Donald Trump, said on Monday he would support a subpoena to obtain former White House national security adviser John Bolton’s book manuscript, according to a CNN reporter.

“What we have to do here is evaluate the manuscript and see if it’s a reason to add to the record,” Graham said, according to a tweet from the CNN reporter.

Asked if he would support a subpoena for the book, he added, according to the reporter: “I want to know what’s in the manuscript, yeah. I think that’s important.”In a report on Sunday, the New York Times cited the manuscript as saying Trump told Bolton he wanted to withhold security aid to Ukraine until they helped investigate Democrats, including Joe Biden.

Maybe an astute move.
The manuscript then becomes public record, making the book unprofitable.

It’s coming out either way and it will be Bolton vs Trump, he said - he said. And questions on what was ACTUALLY said.

But they still have to put this Vindeman character in prison for the leak.

I’m sorry but its the manuscript of a fictional book. Since when do Congressmen make important decisions based on some book that is coming out sometime in the future?

He is. He said earlier he would oppose any attempt to call the Bidens as witnesses for this trial.

I think he’s channeling McCain.

I just hope Graham get’s lit up for this. He’s a moron.

How does he draw the line? Why aren’t all the other witnesses the DEM’s called for just as valid as this manuscript?

Hint for the observers - rules for “admissibility” can be substantive or procedural.

U.S. Republican Senator Lindsey Graham, a vocal ally of President Donald Trump,
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A vocal ally, but not an actual ally, he has done nothing substantive to help President Trump.
He just has to appear to be supportive for his own election.
As soon as the polls close in November, Grahamnesty will be pushing amnesty again.
If he can figure out how to get rid of Trump without destroying himself, he’d do it in a heartbeat and that applies to most of the GOP Senators.
Not helpful, Lindsay. Why should we lend credence to the illegal leaking of the book - perhaps by Vindman’s brother.
The government is out of control and fomenting a coup against the legally elected President of the United States of America.
The Democrats have said as much that Democracy, and the power of the people, must be overruled.
Time to march on Washington.
It sounds like Lindsay is unintentionally wanting to throw Bolton under the Trump Steamroller and have Bolton on the trash heap of history.
That is what will happen, but Lindsay doesn’t see it.
Today is the day to go all out on Biden. Sure the president wanted an investigation but it was of what happened before he was president.
The Senate would not do that. It would protect the business interest of the publisher and author. All that would become public "early" would be the relevant paragraph citiations on this narrow point.
Team Trump could short circuit all that too. Get it out without a subpoena. Make it part of the presentation.
I would LOVE to watch Bolton sweat while Trump’s attorneys asked him questions while under oath. Does he answer the questions or does he take the Fifth? He loses either way. If if it’s held over for another venue, it would never come to pass.
A shrewd move on Linda’s part.
The entire basis for the latest hue and cry for testimony from Johnny Warmonger is the “leaks” from the transcript.
But we have been at this for sometime, haven’t we?
A leak come out. Said leak being very selective if not downright false. But the headlines are written. For example the “leaks” about what Trump said in the call to the Ukraine.
Then, the whole damn damn truth comes out. A transcript of a call, the entire testimony of a witness, Bill Barr’s summary of the Mueller report, etc.
This is why the Dems were mad when Barr summarized the Mueller report. Mueller report. Mueller was going to delay, delay, delay and selectively leak to the media. Oops!! That got derailed.
Same here. We are being told what the Bolton book says by the very same Vindman type arse hard that have been leaking all along. Why would we trust them now or allow them to frame anything?
I betcha dollars to donuts that the Bolton transcript doesn’t say what the Slimes says it does or doesn’t when placed in full context. Plus, if it does, Bolton is now on record with that and has to put his hand on a bible to back it up. Betcha there are adequate WH records to refute him.
So, Linda is actually being pretty smart.
I concur. I doubt Trump is very worried about Boltons testimony. Graham must have a pretty good idea as well what they discussed in reality and in what context. Its good for optics.
Since a draft was subnitted to WH, why didn’t President’s attorney’s get a head of the supposedly said statement by Bolton?
Why wait and let the DEMS squeal now for witnesses, here’s the proof, got ya moment.
Who knew this manuscript was there and why didn’t any of his people do something to break the news before yesterday.
Just shameful that this slipped through on President’s side.
~~~

Graham has said that he wants to hear from the Bidens. He wants to do it seperately, in the Senate.
His point is that the Biden crap should not be used to slow down or muddy up the impeachment. It’s bad for Trump if it drags out and gets nasty
