Cleaning likely works, but if it doesn’t the problem will likely not only remain in the clothes, but be passed onto whatever clothes go through next.
On the KISS principle, burning the clothes makes tremendous sense.
I liked the idea of burning the plane as well.

When I buy clothes at a flea market I always put then through the dryer until they are hot enough to kill fleas, lice, and scabies. This should also kill flu and corrona viruses.

I understand the passengers were disrobed on the China side prior to boarding the plane. The clothes were incinerated and the evacuees were thoroughly scrubbed and rinsed using procedures developed to haul cattle on the same aircraft.
