Impeachment will backfire because the D.C. Leviathan still does not understand why Donald Trump was elected. After all this time, the Democrats, the NeverTrump Rump, and permanent bureaucratic power-grabbers still believe that the 2016 election was about a cult of personality. To them, President Trump is a mere carnival barker, some unholy mixture of P.T. Barnum, Franz Mesmer, and Huey Long. They have therefore spent the last three years trying to convince his supporters that he is a pretender, a Republican interloper, an emperor with no clothes. They have been convinced that if they can only expose Mr. Trump as a fake billionaire, an apostate of conservatism, or an un-American foreign agent, then his voters will pack up, retreat from his rallies, and demand his removal from office. Instead, his appeal has become more robust, and once lukewarm support has turned hot.
What the bow tie–wearing myopics of the swamp can't or refuse to see is that President Trump's support comes, at its source, from growing animal spirits in America convinced that the federal government is a major problem. The country elected Mr. Trump, in part, because he promised to be a giant club willing to bash the D.C. hull repeatedly until it sinks into the Potomac River basin. You can't fight a war if you don't even understand the positions of the players or the stakes involved, and the D.C. denizens prove every day that they have no idea what's going on in the minds of those living between the coasts.
We have watched the federal government grow and transform into something we hate and fear.

That is true.
I hope Trump touches some of the 3rd rails in his second term.
SS and medicare are TOUGH NUTS to crack. NO congressman wants to vote for changes.
And of course older folks in my family depend on it.
So it’s time to make it understood to the younger crowd that they will not be able to depend on it BUT they won’t be losing 6 percent of their paycheck for life anymore.

That has yet to be seen. I do not believe the GOPe has learned anything from Trump's leadership and Presidency so far. It appears to me that GOpers are in a holding pattern waiting for the time when things can "get back to normal". Look at VA. They threw us under the bus.
Something has to be done so that when we get COLA, they don’t take it all away with Medicare Part B.

After three plus years in the White House many Americans see the president as a man who gets things done, and it’s not business as usual in the Oval Office with him. The Democrats screwed up royally going for impeachment.

The fallacy is that SS, to bona fide elder citizens can supposedly “go broke”; but payola, bait, slush, grift to layabouts, goldbrickers, thieves, illegals and welfare queens never does. It’s merely a game for our “superiors”. They use threats of losing SS to frighten elders into voting certain ways; and promises of bigger welfare checks to entice the teatsuckers to do the same.
Clinton was a defendant in a workplace sexual harassment suit. Harvey Weinstein type activity.
He perjured himself during sworn testimony. He was disbarred.
For him to take pride in any of that is clear evidence of a disturbing sociopathy.
President to foreign country: “Stop corrupting our politicians or we will stop giving you money.”
Democrats: “Impeach!”
President Trump is catching on because more and more Americans realize that compromising with the left is like compromising between food and poison.

Our progressive/GOPe/deep state/Godless cancer was allowed to grow untreated for a lonnnnnng time — it didn’t hurt enough yet. It has metastasized. Treatment now will require harsh, invasive and damaging ‘procedures’, probably requiring heavy metal therapy.

That is why the Constituion has Article V. A balanced budget amendment would go a long ways towards cracking that nut.
