TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — As conspiracies about the origin of the Wuhan coronavirus (2019-nCoV) surface in recent weeks, exiled Chinese businessman Guo Wengui (郭文貴) said on Tuesday (Feb. 4) that Chinese military news network Xilu claimed the virus was engineered by the United States, which is strangely at odds with what Chinese health authorities have said.
Guo called Xilu the Chinese version of the Pentagon's news network and a mouthpiece for China's People's Liberation Army.

However, renowned Taiwanese-American professor Ching Lin on Saturday (Feb. 1) refuted the "bioweapon" allegation, saying the aforementioned "four critical spike proteins" are actually four amino acids and that their replacement is not as "critical" as the Xilu had claimed.
Lin also cast doubt on the credibility of the paper (Uncanny similarity of unique inserts in the 2019-nCoV spike protein to HIV-1 gp120 and Gag) being cited in the conspiracy theories. He first suggested that the platform bioRxiv, on which the paper was published, is untrustworthy as most of the literature it posts does not undergo peer review.
He continued to say that the four insertions in the spike glycoproteins that Indian authors described as unique to the 2019-nCoV are not unusual in the results for pBLAST (an algorithm for comparing primary biological sequence information).

Is this legit? I understand that Guo character is a heretic of the Communist regime and has his own axe to grind. Is a mainstream or legitimate mouthpiece of the PLA actually blaming the USA for the virus?
Supposedly Chinese social media has been lit about that very thing for over a week.

Only 2 countries make those kind of bio weapons according to many of the reports published in the past. It always seem to come down to the CIA or the Moosad if you give it time. s/ BTW as we have seen, accusations = the truth in many minds lately. To be accused means your are guilty.

For a biological weapon to be effective one must first design the weapon and then the antidote thus the weapon is a weapon against one self without the antidote.
You must first design the biological weapon and at at the same time design the antidote. Otherwise it kills your enemy and yourself. If this is a designed biological weapon it escaped from a military lab in error as there is no available cure for the disease at present. This may be a normal and severe pathogen as we have had in the past.
I doubt this.
This may be a biological weapon or not. I find it most strange that this particular virus is very contagious prior to symptoms. This makes it perfect as a biological weapon.

I am trying to remember if this is the guy that the PRC wanted to extradite from HK for corruption (Basically racketeering)? If so, he is the sort of the slime who ignited the riots in HK this past summer and fall.
But, I may have my corrupt, greedy and ethiclly challenged tycoons mixed up.

And in the Chinese bioRxiv report, only one case is used as evidence: only one Asian man. That’s not much of a sample. The report looks more like propaganda or incompetence than a proper research report. Did the Reds round up Caucasians to contribute the seven other samples? Doubtful, and suspect if they did.

Headline does not match news report which seems legit enough - a ChiCom claiming the U.S. Created the virus as biowarfare.
The term “disclose” in the headline is just wrong, doesn’t match the article.
Maybe all of the above.
I also remember the Soviet’s biopreparat losing containment of highly virulent anthrax once upon a time.

It could have been irresponsibly developed as an uncontrollable, non-area weapon by a mad military force in a communist nation, but the accusation from a communist nation about our U.S. government developing and using such a weapon is nothing more than a useless distraction.
