If you use JHU CSSE's numbers and look at how many confirmed cases died vs how many recovered three days later, you get some very horrific percentages. Granted, these were the sickest of the sick, but still!
As to the people on the Diamond Princess? We'll know their fates in a month or so. It will be a lot better than the fate of people welded into their apartment building petri dishes with no supplies or medical care.

This one seems to update an hour or so earlier than the Johns Hopkins site. Both have a big surge at around 6 PM EST, with smaller updates later.
The graph of known cases at the Hopkins site always has a flat spot on the last day shown until the major results are reported in our evening.
Encouraging to see numbers of those who have recovered in those charts.. I wonder how long it takes to run its course; determine when one is no longer contagious and what, if any, permanent lung damage is done
Give it up on the numbers - those that are given as a daily overall tally - they are just plain made up.
All we can go by is the real reports smuggled out of China by the people there. You can imagine they are jokes, or made up play acting or what ever you wish.

Yes, I have been saying for a week at least that this event may very well end the regime.
People are still scoffing and going on about their portfolios, but China announcing the death penalty for party officials who “desert their posts” is, to my way of thinking, a very very bad sign.

I would think that the 15% would be for untreated people. You could probably stay home and treat yourself better than being warehoused and ignored in a hospital.
