Chinese media confirms that asymptomatic cases of coronavirus are now excluded from the government’s official count. This contradicts WHO guidelines. It’s unknown how many asymptomatic cases there are.

As far as I've seen, an effective SARS vaccine has not yet been developed, nor has any SARS vaccine been administered to large populations. There is a 99% chance the source you are quoting is a kook. This whole thing is serious enough without all the crazy conspiracy theories.

Actually not "conspiracy" (CIA Narrative) theory. There was a published work from 2006 on this. They attempted to inoculate people from SARS only to find that those inoculated died from a less lethal cold coronavirus.

I don't have the paper handy. No, I'm not going to look it back up. It is just one of many plausible theories.

Not "crazy conspiracy theories."

I do not remember that episode.

Not to completely derail this thread, I found an episode of The Next Generation stunning with the scene where Sarek suffering from Bendii Syndrome meets for the last time with Picard. Lots of SADS. Really great acting and writing too.

a further look at the Hoshenshan pop-up hospital, which is now a fully functional PLA hospital. Disease to wargaming surrealism.

But the little people still have no masks, or even soap. No telling what the condition of the prison camps are, or the rural areas. And Chen Quishi (another netizen reporter) has disappeared in Wuhan.

I know there have been some tested, but no populations have been widely inoculated, as is the theory pushed up thread.

I’ll leave it in the “crazy conspiracy theories” file, thanks.

The part the story left out is did the patient sent back to Miramar contaminate the Miramar base building they are quarantined in like the Hong Kong apartment complex story reported today? This just gets worse doesn't it?

“The first US evacuee from China known to be infected with the Wuhan coronavirus was mistakenly released from a San Diego hospital after an initial test found the person had not been infected, local health officials said Monday.

“The patient arrived in the US last week at Marine Corps Air Station Miramar on a State Department flight from Wuhan, China, and was hospitalized with three others after showing possible symptoms of the virus.

After an initial CDC test showed all four patients did not have the novel coronavirus, they were released Sunday and returned to the 14-day federal quarantine at Miramar, the University of California, San Diego Health said in a statement...”

And if an all clear was given for this patient, who else did they come in contact with afterwords? Hospital staff, drivers, other quarantine evacuees?

It seems people don’t test positive for some time after being exposed, as is common for many viruses. Some won’t test positive until they are symptomatic. This particular patient was showing symptoms, but tested negative on one test, then positive on the next. Obviously, the test is new, so who knows how reliable it is, or how many false negatives or false positives we will see.

Hopefully, his short trip back to Miramar, he didn’t infect anyone else. That he was “confirmed negative” might mean those around him did not use appropriate precautions.

I’m not even happy the nearly 200 people at March AFB are being released tomorrow now that it is said the virus can be asymptomatic/show negative for more than 2 weeks.

Right, lots of plastic bags and such are made here now, as lots of crude oil and natural gas means plenty of stock for plastics.

My Dad gave us tons of garden tools, plus we had some anyway. Fertilizer - not sure, but I think most types are made here. Haven’t needed to buy any for years, as we have a dozen free range chickens (still gotta clean out the 2 chicken houses and the nest boxes often), plus we compost some stuff.

Ah, somehow that made me remember I need a wheel for my Dad’s large garden cart!

Anyone know if the Chinese are still reporting the number of people tested positive for infection, as well as the number with symptoms? (I still suspect these numbers do NOT catch everyone in either case, but the Chinese gov’t’s numbers are the best we have for now to compare what’s happening, one day to another.)

Is that from disinfectant or the suit material?

I'd say either or both. Even could be a rash or hives from stress, I suppose.

There have been some twitter posts claiming that the Chinese are no longer reporting those who “test positive but do not have symptoms”, however, I suspect that even if true, it makes little difference. Most sources have said from the beginning that those without symptoms are NOT being tested, as there are just not enough test kits. Secondly, nobody in their right mind would go to the hospital to get tested if they felt OK at this point. In fact, I would bet there are many thousands of cases where people are just staying home and hoping for the best, rather than report to “quarantine camps”.

The government is planning to allow elderly passengers as well as those with chronic illnesses to leave the quarantined Diamond Princess cruise ship soon, possibly on Tuesday, a source familiar with the matter said.
The move came a day after 65 more people aboard the Diamond Princess cruise ship in Yokohama tested positive for the novel coronavirus, bringing the tally to 135.
