That’s fine they can have the policy you can’t leave until you are searched, but you can’t have them clock out and sit around waiting for you to get around to search them on their time before you let them leave.
The problem isn’t the search before you leave policy, its that Apple was not paying their employees while they were sitting around waiting to be searched so they could leave.
I was responding more to the fact of the search being a policy issue that others have raised rather than the pay issue. On the pay issue, I agree with the workers and the court - if you are required to do something to exit work, you should be paid for it. If you have to search me before I leave, I should clock out afterwards, not before.
Upthread there are people protesting the fact that there’s a search at all.
