While Bernie Sanders was speaking at a rally in Nevada, those watching the live feed saw a woman storm the stage and seize the microphone from his hands. She turned out to be an activist from Direct Action Everywhere, an animal liberation movement.
After castigating Bernie for daring to support those American farmers who raise animals for milk and meat, the live feed cut off. That’s a shame because it was when the video cameras were gone that the fun really started.
What you see watching the video is a young woman with long black hair and scarlet lipstick jumping up from the crowd and wresting the microphone from Bernie’s unwilling hands as he repeatedly tries to tug it back. Eventually, a frail old man undone by her youthful animal strength, Bernie stalks off in high dudgeon. In the meantime, the woman has the stage.
“Bernie,” she says, “I’m your biggest supporter and I’m here to ask you to stop propping up the dairy industry and to stop propping up animal agriculture. I believe in you….”
And then the mic is cut off. Strong men come on stage and the woman vanishes. As they deal with the woman, though, the real fun begins. Suddenly, several women appear on the stage, including one who is nude from the waist up. The women unfurl banners, one of which reads “let dairy die.” And then the video feed ends.
The Daily Mail describes what happened next:
[T]opless women mounted the stage and poured colored liquids over their bodies from containers marked 'milk.'
They had the words 'dairy' and 'die' written across their nude torsos, with their bosoms fully displayed.
Sanders and his wife, Jane, stepped off to the side of the stage as the women carried on.

Breast milk is a deary product.
Bernie doesn’t know what to do with this. The dairy industry is large in his home state of Vermont and it would hurt the economy to shut it down. On the other hand he probably agrees with the nutcases but doesn’t want to upset his core constituents.
That's because he wasn't thinking about the mic. He was staring at the boobs that were attacking him.

To her credit, Bernie’s wife was just bemusedly LOL at the episode.
And after her college financial fiasco, I don’t often give her credit.
His next rally should see lots of signs about the Right to Bare Mamms.
The noble dairy cow is the foster mother of the human race. There is a curious symbiosis between the dairyman and his herd, and there is an old saying, “Keep the cows, and they will keep you”.
Cattle have this fascinating capability of taking vegetation, which is relatively low in actual fats and proteins, and converting it into a highly digestible form of fat (as butterfat), and several very high-quality and fully balanced proteins, lacto-albumin and casein among them, which are the bases for most cheese products, including the Scandinavian Prim-ost and the Italian ricotta. First the cheese is made from the milk, then the whey is further cooked down and the “cooked cheese” is made from that.
Dairy milk also contains lactose, milk sugar, which may negatively affect some people, because for them, there is an almost complete failure of their intestinal bacterial flora to convert it into a usable for digestion, but for the rest of us, a great source of energy. There is some 13% milk solids in an aqueous suspension in normal market milk, and it provides a good basis for many other recipes.
And don’t forget the mineral content. Remember, cow’s milk provides the exact nutritional requirements need for the newborn calf, but in the interests of nutrition, the dairy cow is entirely capable of providing far more of this balance foodstuff than one calf could possible consume. The calf is not cheated a bit.
That wasn’t as bad as I imagined.
