If open borders are such a great thing for the country, why not for states? Pay your taxes to whichever state you identify with.
Then tack it onto your pronoun list, i.e. “Bill Smith, He/Him, Idaho”.

Only a temporary fix. Boise is getting overrun by CA exiles and will soon be the same leftist 500 lb gorilla that runs the state as seen in Portland, Salt Lake and Denver.

Excellent idea! Idaho is WONDERFUL! It needs to include Eastern Washington. We want out.

Yes, enough refugees fleeing California and New York will change a election.

Imagine if you could identify with any state within 100 miles of your address for a small fee. Id claim WV along with most of Western MD.

Maybe its a good discussion topic but youd have to get both state legislatures to sign off, plus the House and Senate in DC. Zero chance this would ever occur. Maybe so, but it would be a great rallying cry in-state to try to get voters to change their allegiances after being shut down by entrenched interests.

That would only apply if you are creating a new state.

So there are some intelligent people in Oregon after all. Democrats are ruining this country little by little.

"New states may be admitted by the Congress into this union; but no new states shall be formed or erected within the jurisdiction of any other state; nor any state be formed by the junction of two or more states, or parts of states, without the consent of the legislatures of the states concerned as well as of the Congress."I and many others read it as The Admissions Clause. To "form" a state, is to make, produce or create a state. If a state already exists, then it's not being made, produced or created.
If I add a bedroom to my house, I wouldn't describe it as forming, producing, making or creating a house. I would describe it as modifying a house.
