Mitt Romney, who was the only Republican senator to break party lines and vote in favor of Donald Trump being impeached at his Senate trial earlier this month, is now attacking the president again. This time, the Utah senator is claiming that the Trump administration is totally unprepared for a potential coronavirus outbreak.
As Trump tried to tamp concerns over the coronavirus in New Delhi, saying that the situation was “under control” and is a “problem that’s going to go away,” Romney was confronting officials in Washington D.C. at a private briefing on the virus. As a member of the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee, Romney claims to not think Trump is doing enough to stop coronavirus from spreading within the United States.
“I’m very disappointed in the degree to which we’ve prepared for a pandemic, both in terms of protective equipment and in terms of medical devices that would help people once they are infected,” Romney said, according to The Hill.
It won’t matter. The voters of South Carolina love and adore him so much that they won’t let a small matter such as him being long dead prevent them for voting for him.

Trump was speaking from a country that has a Billion people with 990 Million of them that cram together on public transport and have worse hygiene than 345 million americans.
India has had 3 Covid 19 cases, one month ago, all three are cured.
If you are worried about about getting Covid 19 in the US anytime in the near future, you must not anything else to worry about.
So far, what we have learned is China sucks, Korean cults and Italians swap too many bodily fluids and Cruise ships are floating fecal transplants. Noted.

This is a political Catch 22.
If Trump just acts quietly to take preventive measures, maybe they work, maybe they don’t. If they work, he gets no credit. If they don’t, CNN screams 24/7.
If Trump makes a big show of preventive measures, same problem if they don’t work. CNN will blame him 24/7 — in that case, tariffs and he didn’t do enough. If they do work, CNN screams he made a mountain out of a molehill. Regardless of the health outcome, he precipitates a panic. Grocery stores cleaned out. No gas, stock market dives even more than it has, run on banks, etc. That happens whether the virus is going to be a crisis or not, if he makes a big show of it.
So net net, there’s no predictably good political outcome here for the leader — only bad ones. So Trump will do the responsible thing and quietly work prevention.
