‘Politics’ is the process by which we vet our candidates, and select our Presidents. True, it often involves harsh criticism and brutal allegation, but if we think we are “above” politics, and abstain from its rigors and scrutiny, we are essentially yielding the victory to whomever is the least gentlemanly.
