If free voter IDs create such a hardship, why don’t we hear more complaints about the various fees and expensive IDs that are required to own a gun and pass a background check?

Excellent question!!! Because the voter ID’s aren’t necessary and gun owner’s paperwork IS? Except I’m not buying it!
Not only that, why do liberals want to give drivers license to illegals and automatically register people to vote when they get their license, but showing your license to vote is voter suppression?
Illinois practices complete hypocrisy on voter identification. While decrying it as a form of voter suppression, major election commissions in Illinois spent big bucks printing “voter identification” cards for all registered voters which are not required in order to vote.
Because voting is a right. /S

There is very little you can do in American without an ID. You can’t check into a hotel. You can’t cash a check. You can’t even buy a city bus pass without an ID. But you can register and vote.
Exactly, everyone has to have some form of Id to do anything, from rich to poor, no exceptions.
That's just a simple political payoff. Someone connected got the printing job.
Out in CA, Maxine Waters hires her daughter to print up a voting slate flyer that they pass out in her district and surrounding districts. Then they go around and charge all the statewide candidates between $5k and $50k to get listed on the slate along with Maxine. The candidates all get to write it off as a campaign expense, while Maxine's daughter walks away with about $150k every 2 years.
Real easy fix. Come in to vote, take your thumb print and dye it purple and then stand there for a picture. If they refuse, have a cop run a background check. Go vote and get a fresh voters ID Card. Any negros that burst into flames having their picture taken will have their next of kin compensated $10 million dollars!
...and most other things, for that matter.
dim-0s claim we cant have voter ID cause blacks are SO INFERIOR as to be unable to obtain a valid ID.

I remember John Stossel going on the street in a Black neighborhood, and asked passers by whether they knew how to get photo ID, and whether or not it would be a good thing to have.
Every one he interviewed HAD photo ID, and they weren’t happy about people who claimed that “minorities” didn’t know how to get photo IDs.
