Well, I guess I can see why they want to provide ‘oversight’ to the President. They have spent the past century outsourcing their legislative authority to him in the form of the Administrative State. Be that as it may, the Constitution gives them no ‘oversight’ authority whatsoever over our President.
After a mere 3 years of being chided by the President to do their work, they are finally talking about doing work instead of working to undermine the President. But it does not appear they are actually doing it. . .just talking about it.

As the “leaders” of this nation, pragmatism should be more important than symbolism. Therefore, I propose that the entire Senate and House of Representatives should be secured in their quarters beneath the Greenbriar Hotel in WV until such time as the nation can be declared 100% COVID-19 free.
They can telecommute any work they care to carry on until that declaration is made.
