Like a lot of you stuck at home, I find myself having family dinners most nights -- and its been nice.
With our son home from college, my office closed, my husbands gym shuttered and my mothers doctors offices seeing only coronavirus cases, all of the outside-the-house, time-suck activities have dropped away. During the day, we each go about our business, but we come together around the kitchen table for an actual sit-down dinner.
It feels like a sweet throwback to my childhood in the 70s, when Daddy came home and snoozed over the newspaper after work, and if you werent at the dinner table at 5:30 when the food was ready, shame on you.
Maybe youre starting to feel it too -- a fleeting, unfathomable gratitude in knowing that whatever horrors stalk outside in the world, at least for this precious moment, the ones you love most are safe. Thats a normal, human response.
Now look around your dinner table again, and decide: Who gets to be the acceptable loss? Which member of your family are you willing to sacrifice to the economy? Because President Trump and some conservatives in the media and government have decided thats a sacrifice youre willing to make so people can get back to work.

Amy doesnt shed a tear for 3,000 family members that are killed by abortion every day.
Hyperbole much there, Amy?
If Alex Jones is banned on social media, then NJ.com should be too.
Democrats are o.k. with nurses, doctors, truck drivers, mailmen, grocery store clerks, and other deplorables dying; but, but not their precious moochers, looters, 28-year old video-game players, recreational marijuana-users and illegal aliens.
See? This is the latest tack: if you question, much less object to, the draconian measures being taken, you’re basically a murderer.
Disgusting! Economy and health have been proven to be directly linked over and over. Increasing poverty lowers average life spans through a host of negative consequences. The compassionate approach is to save lives by not destroying the financial means of people to have a quality of life that promotes long term health.
Family members should just stay home and isolated and re-supplied through a mail slot if they are vulnerable.
Perhaps she can come explain how great this all is to the employees we are being forced to layoff, in the hopes we can preserve a job for them to come back to in a couple months.
Amy, how many families lost a loved one to the Flu this year?

So she’s willing to sacrifice people so she can have food on her table, electricity and running water.
Liberal logic is amazing. The fairy tale premise supposed by this a$$hat is WAY off, unless you and your wife have about 100 kids that are expected to contract the virus.
Have they determined that COVID-19 is worse than the Holocaust? Is Trump still Hitler?
I have a simple solution for this liberal who wrote this partisan piece of garbage. She has a choice. She can stay home. We can’t have everything. We all maker informed choices in our lives. Let people decide for themselves whether they wish to return to work to pay their mortgages and feed themselves. She can go hungry living in a cardboard box if she wishes.
This crap was the running theme at the presser yesterday. At least half the questions implied that Trump will sacrifice the health of Americans to get the economy up and running too soon. As if these bastards care about Americans health. They are terrified that the economy will recover before November.
What drama queens!
Amy gets paid to throw bombs at Republicans.
Which ONE member of your family would you attempt to save if we completely kill the economy to slow the virus, liberals?
Sounds like NJ is a good place for this clown to stay.
