Cabin fever with no snow involved!
Texas already announced that anyone flying into DFW from New York, New Jersey, CT, and New Orleans would be quarantined for 14 days.
It’s in the high 80s here. It’s gorgeous outside. It’s a day to drive to the coast and stroll along the beach. Alas, that is not to be. It’s also a great day for baseball or softball. Hopefully, in a few weeks things will return to almost normal though school is out for the year. That’s a very sad thing for all the graduating seniors. But I know that the folks here will find a way to make graduation special regardless. Strange times!
My husband has made a birdhouse today to deal with the birds that nest on our porch. Hopefully, the birds will take to this new house. And the children are working outside with their father putting up a batting cage sort of thing for our youngest children. Since they’ve been cooped up for two weeks and since ball season has been delayed if not cancelled altogether, our children have been hitting whiffle balls in the backyard. I’m pretty sure our son has been hitting real baseballs over the fence into the neighbors’ backyards. Earlier today, one of the neighbors threw about 10 baseballs back. It’s hard keeping all the children in the neighborhood away from each other. They’re doing a pretty good job. One son went walking with a girl. She’s new to the area and has no friends (that’s what she told me). She asked son if he could go walking. They’re both dorks. They walked miles. Other son went swimming at a neighbor’s house. But they have a visitor from New York. I think they decided they had better quarantine themselves for several weeks. I’m all for that!

Just seems there would be many leaked videos from China by now if there were multitudes of dead bodies. Surely someone knows the truth and can leak it out to the world like the other videos getting out.
This evening I heard long public programs featuring the governors of NY and NJ one after the other. They both spoke of needing to strengthen social distancing, and stay at home policies. NY and NJ have several bistate organizations which should make coordinating more likely. The New York Port Authority, and the New York Port Council (of labor unions) are two of those organizations.
