Leftists the world over are DESPERATE to deny hydroxychloroquine can possibly be effective against the Wuhan Flu. They’ll stick to that line despite the fact that the only two clinical trials done show that in combination with antibiotics it IS in fact effective.

Why? Because Trump endorsed it. No other reason. And in their world since Orange Man Bad, anything Orange Man endorses MUST be untrue no matter what. They are really that sick in the head. Pathetic.

When we look back on this pandemic one lesson will be how much the press worked against progress and the people.

More left wing disinformation. Lupus patients take hydroxychloroquine on an ongoing basis, but even if there are some minor disruptions in supply for them the results are much less serious than the effects of COVID-19 on the medical system and society that they depend on like everyone else.

There will be plenty of hydroxychloroquine in very short order. And it looks like it will save hundreds of thousands of lives, including those of lupus patients and their families.

That is why it is now the standard of treatment for COVID-19 in many major hospitals around the world, and recommended as a prophylaxis for doctors and nurses in India by their Ministry of Health.

Why are leftist media outlets trying to undercut the best COVID-19 treatment known at the moment?

I have read 2 of your posts so far in this thread and find the defeatism and whinging to be both unsupported and contemptible.

DU is calling for you.

His discussion was perfectly rational and intelligent. Even if he didn’t have any direct knowledge he presented solid thought processes. And hardly panic...it’s the chicken littles who are in a panic about this virus.

You, have presented nothing but insults and foulness. You are not at all proving this knowledge you have.

Even as just a mechanical engineer having specialized in electronics, I can say there is no comparison between these hardware-store masks and processing drugs.

I’m not sure about the cost - but many of the “old faithful” drugs are very inexpensive to manufacture...and many that rarely see the light of day anymore are just as effective as the “new stuff”...

What is that supposed to mean?

And just how is any old body going to help in making chemical compounds called drugs?

Read the intelligent posts by people who know about production. You don’t just turn the dial to 11.

The hydro is the crux of the treatment/prophylactic, but Zithromax is a part of the alleged solution, soyes, it is also under scrutiny for whether it really does anything. What if Zpack is scarce now for all the acute diseases people get?

No, I need to take hydroxychloroquine daily for my lupus. I stopped once before because I was suffering internal bleeding and the doc thought it might be causing the bleeding, but I was in the hospital a month later because I stopped with extremely low blood pressure. It’s not something you can just stop or take whenever you need it. I’ve been trying to get a refill for two weeks now with no luck. There’s not a pill to have in California. Doctor said best option for me now is drinking tonic water and hoping that will be enough to hold off the inevitable. I want everyone to get well, but I need my medicine too.

But the premise here is that COVID is really all that dangerous!

Malaria is highly dangerous. So are many other acute disease, but this one isn’t proven to be truly worthy of this panic. It is presumed so just because it is new...which is wise at first, but isn’t really looking that bad outside Italy. But then, not only does Italy have more risk factors, were also hearing they may be wildly-nilly assigning COVID as cause of death for anyone who happens to die having been infected.

If this disease is not much worse than the average virus, do we want to risk people with life-altering if not deadly chronic diseases?

*sigh* as replied to another, it is not the DISEASE that is over-hyped, but it’s the fact it’s always mentioned as the purpose for hydrowhatever. Compared to the chronic permanent autoimmune diseases like lupus. People know it’s for malaria but not so much for other more chronic diseases.

A friend of mine takes it for same reason.

I warned her to fill as many refills as possible, a month and a half ago.

She has.

Not all were paid for by insurance, but, she wanted to have as many as possible, per refill amounts.

Exactly. Although I’m sure usage varies per personal needs.

My concern is that COVID is being hyped itself, just with this whole political shut-down of everything. We still don’t have a solid read on it, but honestly I don’t know how much worse it is than the average virus or bacteria acute disease. The rate is looking not too shocking at 1%, and further we often hear of people who have/had it and stating it was either very bad or no more than a flu, and many stating they were better in 3 days! Which to me says this mixture they talk up isn’t really doing anything, unless it’s for the truly high-risk.

IOW, the ROI seems low while perhaps for others it is much riskier.
