After a detective hunt across China, researchers chasing the origin of the deadly SARS virus have finally found their smoking gun. In a remote cave in Yunnan province, virologists have identified a single population of horseshoe bats that harbours virus strains with all the genetic building blocks of the one that jumped to humans in 2002, killing almost 800 people around the world.
The killer strain could easily have arisen from such a bat population, the researchers report in PLoS Pathogens1 on 30 November. They warn that the ingredients are in place for a similar disease to emerge again.

The Chinese propensity to eat anything at all never ceases to amaze or scare me. Which is among the reasons why that's one country I'll hesitate to visit.
Its all I've been hearing among my friends for the past few months, but I just nod in agreement when they are discussing it and involve me in it.
This my biggest fear. China or other nefarious groups just coming over here already infected (not necessary to carry vials) and throwing this country once again into a upheaval. We need a system in place that can control these outbreaks and still functions as a nation economically, socially...etc

“We should not disturb wildlife habitats and never put wild animals into markets.” True. Eating bats infested with germs that harm the respiratory system of human persons is unethical. I enjoy listening to views that Bill Gates planned today’s virus three months ago and also planned ways to manage the news. Oh well. The Lord is above it all and uses plagues as tests, corrections and punishments. Trump is passing the test and the lame media is failing. I am correcting the nutrition of my family. And there are plenty of reasons for the Lord to punish us: excessive use of foul language, the neglect of Sunday church obligations, and the promotion of vice in schools. Eating bats is a sign of maladaptive behavior and failed belief systems.

nah..there was a 2006 article from NIH I posted talking about the severe respiratory issues some viruses in China’s animal market caused their citizens and called it a big concern. There have been warnings for over a decade about it.
China doesn’t need a bio weapon they have billionaires who hate USA setting up shop in their country abusing labor and environment to send poorly made expensive items back to the USA. This killed our blue collar jobs.

Given the 2015 italy press report documenting how the chinese were experimenting withnthe sars virus in their labs, yes, its a big ol crock of crap.
