The state's directive requires that "large 'big box' retailers must":
Restrict access to non-essential goods. Stores must close aisles, close portions of the store, or remove items from the floor. Only offer non-essential items via online portals, telephone, delivery, or curbside pickup, to the extent possible.
Except in the event of emergencies threatening the health and welfare of a customer, showrooms and garden sections of large home improvement centers should be closed.
WCVB-TV reported that "according to the state, large retailers must cease in-person sales of items that include, but are not limited to: Arts and crafts, beauty supplies, carpet and flooring, clothing, consumer electronics, entertainment (books, music, movies), furniture, home and garden, jewelry, paint, photo services, sports equipment," and toys.
While Vermont's order banning the in-person sales of "non-essential" items covers the entire state, municipalities across the country have issued comparable directives.
A similar crackdown has been imposed in Colorado's Summit County, and in the city of Chicopee, Massachusetts.

Hopefully shovels to bury the dead is not on the banned list.
Little boxes: don’t get too excited here
You’re gonna be NEXT
Madness
Chairman Mao and Stalin would be proud if Satan allowed them TV sets in Hell.
Just like they dreamed of doing in the United States if they took over here. Total state control.
Vermont is p0wn3d by Amazon?
Never let a panic go to waste..
I think it is getting near revolt time
No toys for the kids stuck at home..
No soap and deodorant
It begins, freedom and liberty is gone as the state decides everything “essential.” NONSENSE!!!
We had this discussion in my County. It is really unfair to let’s say, HOBBY LOBBY to close when Walmart is open and you can get what you need there. You can’t call one essential and one not. It’s not a small thing. In Arizona.. everything except restaurants, bars and gyms are essential. The Governor is leaving it to the people to do the right thing. I guess he trusts us.
NH stores say thank you.
Well isn’t that special.
Just a ‘little’ bit (more) government totalitarianism by the usual murderous suspects, “public safety” excuse.
Right?????

Oh, the state deems unnecessary.
Will this apply to Amazon, too?
Also, why cant garden centers be open? Dont they want us to start our veggie gardens for spring??
Yep, called this coming weeks ago also.
Nazicare.
(and will pressure the retail employment market even more)
Corona Nazis in full stride here.
Give me the internet, my on line books and some classic books and being able to re read a few more classics, daily cross word puzzles and able to walk a mile a day, and I am basically happy with a couple of trips each week to get groceries.
My wife wants to plant veggies, more flowers and do what I do or she will go whacko.
The garbage, nonsensical, arbitrary, high handed diktats from state governors keeps getting worse by the minute.
WTF????
Open rebellion or law suit either way they cannot just take this BS.
