SHENZHEN, China: The Chinese city of Shenzhen has banned the eating of dogs and cats as part of a wider clampdown on the wildlife trade since the emergence of the new coronavirus.
Scientists suspect the coronavirus passed to humans from animals. Some of the earliest infections were found in people who had exposure to a wildlife market in the central city of Wuhan, where bats, snakes, civets and other animals were sold.
The disease has infected more than 935,000 people around the world and killed some 47,000 of them.
Authorities in the southern Chinese technology hub said the ban on eating dogs and cats would come into force on May 1.

The photos of the wet markets I saw yesterday gave me nightmares — and I don’t have nightmares normally.. Cages of live cats, and cages of live dogs, crammed together waiting to be bought and eaten. It was so sad.
Bats are ok?
I’m always afraid to click on these kinds of stories for fear that someone will post pictures of agonizingly tortured animals. I can never get them out of my head.

The problem is though that they still eat them in Spain and Italy today.

Anyway, like I was sayin’, chihuahua is the fruit of the sea. You can barbecue it, boil it, broil it, bake it, saute it. Dey’s uh, chihuahua-kabobs, chihuahua creole, chihuahua gumbo. Pan fried, deep fried, stir-fried. There’s pineapple chihuahua, lemon chihuahua, coconut chihuahua, pepper chihuahua, chihuahua soup, chihuahua stew, chihuahua salad, chihuahua and potatoes, chihuahua burger, chihuahua sandwich. That- that’s about it.
And bats, and snakes, and monkeys....
