An international poll of more than 6,000 doctors released Thursday found that the antimalarial drug hydroxychloroquine was the most highly rated treatment for the novel coronavirus.
The survey conducted by Sermo, a global health care polling company, of 6,227 physicians in 30 countries found that 37% of those treating COVID-19 patients rated hydroxychloroquine as the “most effective therapy” from a list of 15 options.
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration gave chloroquine and its next-generation derivative, hydroxychloroquine, emergency-use authorization Monday for treating the novel coronavirus, although the drug was already being used off-label by some doctors and hospitals for COVID-19 patients.
The survey also found that the most commonly prescribed treatments are analgesics (56%), azithromycin (41%) and hydroxychloroquine (33%).

I just found out that a March 26 decree in France prevents doctors from using HCQ for covid-19 patients. Doctors there are petitioning President Macron to be able to use it. “If GPs prescribe this medicine early enough to people with COVID-19, hospitalizations and lives can be saved.” The petition has been signed by 20,000 people so far.

If I was a cynical sort, I would say it is an “anti lawsuit” method of medicine.
But then that would be anecdotal.
Funny how the left in our country wants us to follow the world community until they don’t.

Heck, in Wuhan, when this first started, the Chinese communist party leaders had their own people tested and just let all the positive ones, many many of them, stay in public and travel around the world so that their Biological Warfare Weapon would be spread far and wide.
We used to call the masses of Chinese people that were/are expendable to as to push the agenda of China dominating the world in all ways, we used to call them cannon fodder.
This is why China has an excess of people because losing a few million to push their agenda is how they conduct their wars.
This is just another way to make war with mostly the USA and other western states and actually the whole world.
The Chinese government has declared war on us with all of their actions ie this Chinese virus.

I think the regimen will eventually be seen as an effective preventative.
I would posit, both Ingraham & Trump deserve credit for recognizing the value of an inexpensive medication in use for a long time.
I think the statement means that in the US, HCQ is reserved for high-risk patients, NOT that it is used after severity of symptoms sets in.
Far more important, only 21% of doctors in the US in the survey have used it, so only around that same percentage see it as the best treatment. In Italy and Spain, 50 and 61% use it and the same percentage say it is the best treatment. That says something about mindset — those who use it say it works.
Also interesting, antivirals ($$$) are rated low for efficacy. May be the same mindset effect. Doing nothing rates #3 after HCQ and Z-Pak.

The only requirement to be treated is you have to be diagnosed and hospitalized. Which makes sense at the moment until the supply chain is more robust. The FDA authorization allows use if you are in a clinical trial, and if no clinical trial is available, you are allowed to have a doctor prescribe, as long as you meet the diagnosis and hospitalization requirement.

I have to Wonder though if folks are getting it in NY, because hundreds of people are dying every day in NY, while elsewhere practically everyone taking the drugs are surviving- Something isn’t adding up

Thank you for that information and detailed explanation- I wonder if taking quercitin and zinc together then might work like taking HCQ and zinc then? Because I seriously doubt we are going to get the drug if we get the virus badly- right now the most cases are downstate, but they are coming upstate quickly- as many downstaters have second homes up here-

Got a bottle of what? The quercitin? it’s worth a try if you can’t get the HCQ from doctors- Might also want to pick up tonic water- I doubt that will work either, but it might be worth a try in a worse case scenario- not sure how much one would need though- it’s got a pretty low amount of quinine in it- not even sure quinine would work- and there are risks with quinine- but my goodness- there are severe risks with a bad case of the virus - deadly risks-
