The run on gun stores has overwhelmed the gun background-check system. Licensed dealers have told me that they are getting busy signals whenever they try contacting the relevant federal and state agencies. They say that they are having an “impossible” time completing background checks. If the system worked correctly, gun sales would have been still higher.

I only have a 50 year old shotgun so I bought a Ruger at my local Rural King couple weeks back. Background system kept crashing. They told me they would call when it went through. Took 6 hours.
Had to go to three stores to find ammo.
I took a few friends 3 weeks ago as they used to “pooh pooh” gun owners then he came to me “freaking out” wanting a gun-—and wanted my help. Both places we went were 100-150 deep (easy) and 4-6 hour wait times due ti PICS being down often. However, the most interesting item were approx 40% of the people there were Asians. Next, speaking with the owners of these stores there was an alarming rate of new gun owners that added to the delay as they were giving safety instructions. Thank God for “Youtube” was the joke floating around in lines. And yes, since I waited with my friends. I scored a 10MM Carbine!

If the NICS checks are not completed within 72 hours of the first ATTEMPTED submission, I say give the buyer the gun. It is wrong to penalize the innocent for governmental incompetance.
What part of this don't people get? The complaint about background checks should be that they even exist. The acknowledgment of background checks without full protest using the 1A, is abdicating one's rights. Eventually you'll lose the right to bear arms and that paves the path to losing all other rights.
