Here’s my somewhat contrarian viewpoint about Fauci.
He has been doing the job he was hired to do. His expertise is in infectious diseases & he has provided the best advice possible on that topic.
He was not hired to balance all the factors involved in managing the pandemic (economic, social, political, etc.). His role in government (aided by 2,000 people in his department) is to provide the best possible, non-partisan advice he can. Others, higher up the chain of command (Cabinet Secretaries, V.P., President) have the job of collecting the best possible advice from as many experts as required, and putting it all together to make decisions, and give directions. In military terms, Fauci is a Specialist; Pence & Trump are Generals.
The MSM has (sometimes successfully) used Fauci to advance their own sick agendas. Fauci has attempted to answer their questions as clearly, fulsomely, and honestly as possible — which you should expect from someone employed for his expertise. However, Fauci lacks the skills to avoid the many traps the gotcha press sets for him (and just about everyone else, who does not have a “D” after their name). He’s used to talking to reasonable people, with a modicum of integrity — he’s out of his element talking the lying, manipulative media.

he hasn’t been successful at anything, do you recognize that? He’s been working on a vaccine for aids since 84 and hasn’t done anything. now he keeps pinging the idea that we won’t fully reopen until we’re all vaccined. Think about that!
I agree. I have many scientists in my family and they tend to answer questions very, very literally and that’s what I noticed Fauci doing. Their minds are wired that way. Their minds aren’t wired to avoid traps and gotcha questions (as a politician’s is). That said he shouldn’t refer to a ruined economy as an “inconvenience.”
Back to work = sucking up to Hillary and DC parties.
