WASHINGTON, D.C. -- As President Donald Trump works to contain the damage from the novel coronavirus outbreak in the U.S., the rally in support he enjoyed as the nation entered a virtual lockdown has faded. His job approval rating, now 43%, has slipped six percentage points since mid-March when he earned 49% approval, which tied his personal best.
The six-point decline in the president's approval rating is the sharpest drop Gallup has recorded for the Trump presidency so far, largely because Trump's ratings have been highly stable and have yet to reach the historical average for presidents (back to 1945) of 53%.

If they see a negative story today on CNN or MSNBC, they’ll think Trump’s doing a bad job. If they see a positive story tomorrow on FOX or Facebook, they’ll think he’s doing a good job.
Take heart my fellow FReepers, this too shall pass. President Trump pulled this country out of Obama’s malaise, and he’ll do it again. In the meantime, STAND STRONG. The Dims and their sycophants in the media will do or say ANYTHING to hurt Trump politically with this.

Not entirely true...under the current conditions of all states and territories having a federal disaster declaration, and likely, a state of emergency, there are provisions at the federal level that gives the President unprecedented powers...should he use them? No...I think he’s doing an excellent job deferring to the states...however, he’s right...the power/authority is there...under current conditions.
Yeah, and how does Trump compare “head-to-head” with Joe Biden (aka “Joe the Joke”).
Look at Michigan. Governor Karen Witless has botched that situation so badly that Trump's odds of winning Michigan are BETTER today than they were a month ago.
Get on your governor's ass. Get on your state legislator's ass. Make this a grassroots revolt, not a national referendum on President Trump.
It’ll be up to you in blue states to push for a re-awakening, but that should be pretty easy once the joy in red states spreads.
