The Supreme Court today refused to entertain a plea against the use of Hydroxychloroquinine and Azithromycin in treating critically ill COVID-19 patients with a direction to make a representation before the Central Government.
A three-judge bench comprising of Justice N V Ramana, Justice Sanjay Kishan Kaul and Justice BR Gavai was hearing a petition filed by an NGO named People for Better Treatment who has submitted that COVID-19 patients at present are receiving only symptomatic therapy because no specific drug has been invented till now for treating against the new SARS-CoV-2 viruses. Moreover the Ministry of Health and family welfare has issued “Revised Guidelines on Clinical Management of COVID-19”, that at present no specific antiviral therapy against COVID-19 exists.

Like any medication there are always contraindications, etc. Use for Malaria? ok. Use for Lupus? ok Use for RA? ok. Use for Covid19? Not ok? Whatever it is used for, doctors simply need to know who NOT to use it for. Patitent medical history etc.
Look at the Anti Depression meds for instance. The side effect lists are astounding and long and frightening.
It seems clear from this article that there is a global push against HCQ and it is coming primarily from US quarters. Why? Follow the money? Something is definitely odd.
It is truly odd, this apparently organized push against HCQ. I’d like to know more about the NGO that filed the plea.

Founded in 2001 with stated purpose to clean out corruption in the Indian healthcare system. I just scanned through three years of their press releases. They look legit. I think they’re wrong to go after HCQ but it looks to me like they’re probably acting out of sincere concern rather than being part of a shady effort to undermine it. I say this based on about a five minute scan of their website so take it for what it’s worth.

Hm, good catch. I found their website but missed that piece. I see he presented his plea before the Indian court from the USA via video link. I was picturing him operating out of India. If he's in an academic setting in the USA, he's no doubt being influenced by American leftists who will of course have the standard leftist axe to grind against HCQ.
More so than that these academic researchers very often have consulting gigs with Pharma and tend to be financially invested in them too. In any medical paper they publish - and they publish often (which is how they get their research funding), on the topic of a drug or a clinical trial involving that drug, they are required to give full disclosure on their ties to the manufacturer of that drug. In this case all you have to do is a Google search on anything this researcher published and check for disclosures.

India is a primary supplier to the world of HCQ. That’s where we got the 30M doses. Close it down, make HCQ too scarce to utilize as a prophylactic.
It’s all about big pharma $$$$$$$$ and their payoffs to our less then esteemed politicians. Don’t doubt it.
