As long as we are still allowed to have a fiery passionate debate on a very narrow spectrum.

The article is confusing. But the order from the state Supreme Court looks clear enough. They order her released, and I have to believe the county judge has to follow their directions.

Hope so. If the Judge doesn’t I would like to see the TX Rangers cuff him and stuff him!

She’s raised closed to $300,000 in gofundme donations. Rewarding patriotism is a good thing. Especially at this time with so many out of work. When you think about how much energy and money Bernie spent to raise a bunch of small donations, this show of support gives one hope that the defense of liberty, and the taking offense to injustice, is still strong.

And the judge was wrong on so many levels. IANAL but I think he was wrong as a matter of law, a matter of judgement, a matter of science, a matter of opinion, a matter of 2nd order consequences and more. Demanding an apology for ‘breaking the law’? Is that in the law book? LOL. I understand discretion but this guy was just trying to strong arm her. Insisting she wait for a vaccine? Does he not realize it will take years and years for a vaccine to be developed and proven safe and effective and that the disease is likelier to die off of its own accord before then?

Unfortunately the state may come down on her in other ways - strip her of her cosmetology license, her business license, a tax audit etc. Maybe Texas is not that vindictive but other states are.

exactly right, this judge had his panties in a knot because she would not admit she’s selfish.
He must have a dunce cap, and chalkboard in his courtroom.

RE :”However, Luther's release is unlikely because court documents show that she is jailed for contempt of court and not for violating Abbott's executive order.”

So what's this?

She was jailed for contempt of court not violating the order. Looks like the judge saw this coming and is using a technically to keep her in jail.

This activist judge was elected by extremists. He will probably win again. He is running against a white woman.

[[The very idea that you could be jailed or prosecuted for not confessing to a charge is un-American on its face. That judge needs to be defrocked]]

Absolutely- first we’re forced to buy something the government demands we buy (obamacare), now we’re begin forced to confess something in order to avoid jail time? What next? Courts will force people to renounce their Christian faith and convert to Islam or face jail time?

So what’s this?

To me, it looks like wording left over from an earlier version of the article, which dealt with the governor requesting that she be released.

The new news - that the Supreme Court has now ordered her release - seems to have been tacked on at the top of that earlier article, without changing the rest of the articles text. It was a slap-dash update, or so it looks to me

It should be noted that Judge Eric is known to travel within “progressive” circles.

From the judge during the trial:

Judge Moyé said she must see the errors of her ways and “understand that the society cannot function where one’s own belief in a concept of liberty permits you to flaunt your disdain for the rulings of duly elected officials.”

“That you owe an apology to the elected officials who you disrespected by flagrantly ignoring, and in one case defiling, their orders you now know obviously apply to you,” Moyé lectured.

This is unbelievable...... seriously, how can you be considered a judge with statements like these?

Good. Now put the judge in jail for violations of the Bill of Rights.

Totally agree. But, I would add the arresting police officers as well. They took an oath to protect the Constitution from enemies both foreign and domestic. They need to honor their oath.

DEPRIVATION OF RIGHTS UNDER COLOR OF LAW

Section 242 of Title 18 makes it a crime for a person acting under color of any law to willfully deprive a person of a right or privilege protected by the Constitution or laws of the United States.
For the purpose of Section 242, acts under “color of law” include acts not only done by federal, state, or local officials within the their lawful authority, but also acts done beyond the bounds of that official’s lawful authority, if the acts are done while the official is purporting to or pretending to act in the performance of his/her official duties. Persons acting under color of law within the meaning of this statute include police officers, prisons guards and other law enforcement officials, as well as judges, care providers in public health facilities, and others who are acting as public officials. It is not necessary that the crime be motivated by animus toward the race, color, religion, sex, handicap, familial status or national origin of the victim.

The offense is punishable by a range of imprisonment up to a life term, or the death penalty, depending upon the circumstances of the crime, and the resulting injury, if any.

This episode makes Dallas and Texas look bad, very bad. What are Texans and citizens of Dallas going to do about this judge and this progressive malignant behavior?

Got my hair cut today....The woman is a friend of mine....she's been shut down for a month and a half.

But the local Liquor store..was not shut down.

This is a rural area...but a big county. Don't think we have had many positives...to the "19".

I know of one guy who died....in his 50's....long time smoker..prolly 80 pack year smoker...and short time vaper.....

Met a woman in the Hosp..where I work some...in her 50's. Starting smoking when she was 10...Two packs a day for 40 years...then one pack a day. She's a pulmonary cripple...Stuck on O2...prolly has lung cancer per CT. She's a set up for the "19"...if she gets exposed.
