Merica!!
I prefer a small SUV for my commuter vehicle.
Some people like a smooth ride that weight and a longer wheelbase provides. Furthermore, trucks are not subject to the same CAFE standards as cars. Todays Buicks are smaller than anything imaginable in the 1960s. Pathetic death traps.
I see SUVs. SUVs everywhere.
Penis-enlargement surgery is cheaper than a pick-up truck.
I bought what is likely my last new manual trans [AWD, turbo] car in March.
Mostly because the auto companies were rumored to be about to cease sales of same in the US and it’s now tough to get a manual trans, turbo [altitude compensated], 4x4 puckup.
Might be because more rednecks are still out and about looking for good deals while others are locked in their bunkers.
I would think about it but my old truck is paid off and running fine.
Joe Diffie said it best:
Well, I got my first truck when I was three
Drove a hundred thousand miles on my knees
Hauled marbles and rocks and thought twice before
I hauled a Barbie doll bed for the girl next door
She tried to pay me with a kiss and I began to understand
There’s something women like about a pickup man
When I turned sixteen, I saved a few hundred bucks
My first car was a pickup truck
I was cruisin’ the town and the first girl I see
Was Bobbie Joe Gentry, the homecoming queen
She flagged me down and climbed up in the cab
And said, “I never knew you were a pickup man”
You can set my truck on fire and roll it down a hill
And I still wouldn’t trade it for a Coupe de Ville
I got an eight-foot bed that never has to be made
You know if it weren’t for trucks we wouldn’t have tailgates
I met all my wives in traffic jams
There’s just something women like about a pickup man
Most Friday nights I can be found
In the bed of my truck on an old chaise lounge
Backed into my spot at the drive-in show
You know a cargo light gives off a romantic glow
I never have to wait in line at the popcorn stand
‘Cause there’s something women like about a pickup man
You can set my truck on fire and roll it down a hill
And I still wouldn’t trade it for a Coupe de Ville
I got an eight-foot bed that never has to be made
You know if it weren’t for trucks we wouldn’t have tailgates
I met all my wives in traffic jams
There’s just something women like about a pickup man
All staring at me, son
A bucket of rust or a brand new machine
Once around the block and you’ll know what I mean
You can set my truck on fire and roll it down a hill
And I still wouldn’t trade it for a Coupe de Ville
I got an eight-foot bed that never has to be made
You know if it weren’t for trucks we wouldn’t have tailgates
I met all my wives in traffic jams
There’s just something women like about a pickup man
Yeah, there’s something women like about a pickup man
I’ll drive that pickup now, boy
That’s about it
people don't need family sedan's if they refuse to have and raise children....
Sadly, those cars being crushed are now considered vintage and not merely disposable.
I always liked the early 70s Ford LTDs.
Well, they all drive trucks in the movies.
Thank cheap gas.
Thank President Trump.
Maybe it’s because people now are looking to relocate to rural areas after seeing how WuFlu impacted high-density areas. (A couple realtors on FBN said this actually is happening — finding second/vacation homes for bugging out if necessary.) Trucks are more practical in rural areas, and have more room to transport stuff than cars have. JMO.
It is easier to haul toilet paper in a pickup.
Yes, but what were non people buying???
I’ve always driven smaller nimble cars.
About five years ago, I got a Toyota Tacoma as a company car. I liked the truck convenience.
Last year, that got switched out for a F-150. It’s the first pickup I’ve had.
I’ll probably buy it when the trade in time comes. I think I’ve got about 25,000 miles to go, which if we ever get back to work could be as little as 8 months.
Well, it’s hard to mount a .50 cal machine gun on the back of a Prius. :)
Trucks are far more comfortable than cars. A few years ago I went with a BMW X3 and ditched the truck...then went back to a truck.
Just bought ConservaTeen (Us deplorable parents co-signed the loan, he bought it) a new Ford Ranger. His old Ford Ranger was too small. Nice truck...
