Tesla’s Elon Musk says he’ll leave California due to coronavirus shutdown. Who cares? (Sacramento Bee editorial)
Sacramento Bee ^ | May 10 2020 | BY THE SACRAMENTO BEE EDITORIAL BOARD

Poor Elon Musk. COVID-19 has killed nearly 2,700 Californians so far, but he’s the one who’s truly suffering during the coronavirus pandemic.

The Tesla founder and billionaire CEO launched a fresh Twitter tantrum on Saturday. He threatened to move his electric car company out of California as a protest against the state’s coronavirus stay-at-home order.

“Frankly, this is the final straw,” wrote Musk on Twitter after health officials in Alameda County declined to let Tesla’s factory re-open this week. “Tesla will now move its HQ and future programs to Texas/Nevada immediately.”

Musk also insulted Alameda County’s health officer, calling her “unelected & ignorant.”

Unfortunately for Musk, Gov. Gavin Newsom’s statewide stay-at-home order is extremely popular with the vast majority of Californians. And for good reason: Our collective efforts to slow the spread of COVID-19 has saved tens of thousands of lives.

Sacramento Bee is the Babylon Bee without the satire. They are crazy enough to think they are serious when they spew out nonsense.

>>COVID-19 has killed nearly 2,700 Californians so far,

That’s about how many babies have been killed by abortion every day for over 50 years.

Why no tears from the Left?

I actually have gained more respect for him...

Same here. After watching a couple of Rogan interviews and studying his face and words. I didn't know a lot about him (yeah I heard the stories about his dad/grandpa), I started trending positive about him. Now this. HOORAY Elon. Very interesting person with a sense of humor. Yeah, I know A I is concerning.

Umm, not so much. Look at what the out-flow of Californians to Colorado has done to that state. And, look at what they’re in the process of doing to Arizona. If they would learn from their mistakes made in California I might be more receptive to Californians emigrating to my beloved Texas. But, they never learn and never will. So, if there’s a way to keep them out of Texas I’m for it. God Bless Texas ....

TX best start playing up their “Red NecK” ways very hard to discourage the Tesla/Lib invasion.
Those ‘Flakes are already making Kali’fornicate wages and living outside reality so TX traditions may not bother them much.

Tesla only set up a battery and motor plant here in No. Nevada, but their negative effect on us has been profound.
We now have a Dim controlled legislature which wiped out over a decade of conservative progress in a single legislative session.

Musk told us another reality, “ Alameda County’s health officer, pointing out that she was “unelected & ignorant.”

She is also a democrat like the other slimy/fake health director in the Bay Area.

I am an Arizona transplant (most recently from Georgia), and the locals here in PHoenix don't mind me so much, but they resent all the garbage the Californians are bringing with them. I even mostly stopped wearing my Dodgers baseball cap so as not to offend.

Don’t know if Alameda County’s health officer is ignorant, but if she’s not elected, how is pointing that out an insult?

Unfortunately for Musk, Gov. Gavin Newsom’s statewide stay-at-home order is extremely popular with the vast majority of Californians.

And how is it “unfortunate” for Musk that stay-at-home is “extremely popular” or not? He wants his factory open, producing his coal-burning cars—he’s not running for election.

If they would learn from their mistakes made in....etc...
= = = = = = = = = =

Guy and wife move to small town in the ‘country’.
Makes friends and his new friend invites him down to the firehouse on Thurs and he agrees to a Thurs weekly ‘meet’.
All goes well till one Thurs he decides he can’t make it so buddy says ‘You got to make, WE are the Volunteer Fire Dept on Thurs’.
Guy campaigns for paid firefighters.
Meanwhile his wife is walking downtown and stepped in front of a car and almost gets hit (her NOT paying attention), she gets mad and campaigns for stop lights.

They both get ‘civic minded’ and campaign for all sorts of ‘goodies’
.
They both ‘win’ and a few weeks later are heard to say “This was such a nice little town when we moved here, now it is nothing but taxes and regulations”

And they wonder what happed to all their old friends BUT certainly gained some new ones by pushing the freebies.

Mr. Musk’s company makes sleek and beautiful electric cars that are revolutionizing the auto industry and could help save humankind from climate change.

Poor Elon Musk. Coronavirus has killed nearly 2700 Californians, of an average age of 75, 1350 of them living in nursing care facilities, What?!??!!? 2700 people? Only 2700 people? We’re wearing masks, fighting over toilet paper and antibacterial wipes and hand sanitizer, and most are staying home whether we want to or not, because 2700 mostly very old people died? Well, shoot, I’m with Elon then.
