Americans growing numb to NRA’s constant drumbeat of fearmongering (barf alert)
Las Vegass Sun ^ | 13 may 2020

eave it to the National Rifle Association to exploit the COVID-19 pandemic for its own gain.

But that’s what the NRA has been doing in recent months — fearmongering over the crisis to drive up gun sales and try to broaden its membership base.

On social media and internet videos, the NRA paints a dystopian picture in which social order has spun apart and guns are the only means of assuring survival. Think “Mad Max” except with people fighting over food instead of fossil fuels.

The organization also is propagating the usual tinfoil-hat claims about government takeovers, suspension of Second Amendment rights and so on.

Laugh of the week!! A MEDIA member accusing someone (anyone) of exploiting the current world for their own purpose and gain.
The virus will be “some time ago” history long before the media gains back its former position of respect.

Uh huh... How many Democrat governors ordered the closure of gun shops immediately because of the panicdemic? I guess Fauci told them that gun shops are going to be responsible for millions of deaths due to the coronavirus. Lord knows the media didn’t take the opportunity to point out that “many” protestors in Michigan were armed; now why would that be?

Sorry Mr. Dumbass Editor, I haven’t grown numb to the threat to the Second Amendment, nor am I numb to the threat to our Constitution in general.

That is why there are record gun sales. Media sucks.

Telling the truth about the government is not fearmongering.

Well, it is logical to close gun stores to prevent deaths.

People will get so fearful and depressed due to lock-downs that they will want to shoot themselves.

Those suicides would be classified as Covid deaths, however, proving that guns cause Covid deaths.

The only good news is that the Covid death rate increases, providing justification for longer lock-downs and more restrictions.

(Today’s sarcasm is tomorrow’s reality.)

Not fear mongering.

But I don’t need the NRA to tell me things are bad and I need to prep for what’s coming.

I’ll own that. I used to be very patient and capable of a logical discussion with lefties; not anymore.

Is the NRA fear mongering?

I wouldn’t know. When they brought on Ollie Ayatollah, I cut the cord.

Not that it has stopped them from begging from my money (here’s your welcome back kit, Mr Charley, how about some free socks, shirts, etc.)

Too sad. Group has become clingy and desperate.

Johnny Hanson does not understand either History or Human Nature. Like the French romantics, he thinks all people are basically good. It follows then, that we can trust the government, and we don’t need any guns. The NRA is just like that hate monger country Israel. Neither of them should be allowed to exist! In fact let’s face it folks, it might be unpleasant if we had to exterminate them, but think of how much more peaceful the world would be without them! The logic: Vote for the party that has mastered the art of removing the undesirables from society! The gentle, peace party whose most passionately loved cause kills about 120,000 babies every day, all around the world! What’s not to like? But remember, the real danger is the dark evil that lurks in the hearts of the NRA,

Oh, but the people welcome the novelty of the anti-gun rhetoric. You know, the same vapid drivel we've been hearing for the last half a century about those horrible "assault weapons" and "high-powered magazines."

Nope. Nobody's tired of hearing that claptrap.

I belong to about a dozen gun forums, and without exception, the majority are down on the NRA because of Wayne LaPierre's extravagant expenditures and luxury travel.

The NRA is pandering fear, alright. But it's their fear of members wising up to the scam. It's Wayne's fear of the end of the gravy train.

We need the NRA. We do not need WLP.
