The lawsuit contends Academy employees did not try to determine whether Perez was legally able to buy ammunition, even though it was clear that Perez and Burden were together, The Springfield News-Leader reported. He handed her the box of bullets and gave her $20 to pay.

What would it take to be “legally able to buy ammunition”?
Not sure. LuckyGunner sends it to my house. No questions asked. Well maybe:”Are you 18 years of age?”
They sold the bullets? What about the powder, primers and cases?
Butt, you know some activist judge will allow it to move forward.
Federal immigration authorities said in 2018 that Perez should have faced deportation proceedings after a previous arrest in Middlesex County, New Jersey, but he was released because the Immigration and Customs Enforcement request didn't meet the county's required criteria.
This is the real story, here. The guy should not have been in the country.
Can Home Depot be sued if they sell metal pipes and fertilizer to some Mid Easterner who uses them to make bombs?
The lawsuit is frivolous.
Is the clerk supposed to read minds?
If the clerk would refuse sale to a minority, because he does not like the way they look, he could be sued for "discrimination".

Why aren’t they suing Middlesex County?
The gas company for selling the gas to get there.
The woman bought the ammo. As is her prerogative as an adult, she gifted theammo to her lover. Do you take theman to court for buying his lover booze? Same thing. I’d sue the state for thr illegal invader being here.
So, could a liquor store be sued, or a brewery, winery or distillery, if someone kills someone else while driving drunk?
I want to sue Exxon for selling the gas to the drivers who’ve permanently injured my neck and spine.
Why not sue the McDonalds they ate breakfast at that morning? Surely if they had been malnourished they might not have had the energy to commit their crimes.
Why not sue Levis for providing the jeans they wore? Surely if they were naked they would've been too embarrassed to venture out in public and commit their crimes.
Why not sue the Shell gas station they bought gas at? Surely if they were unable to get to their destination they would not have been able to commit their crimes.
Why not sue their eye doctor? Surely if he hadn't provided the glasses or contacts they wore they wouldn't have been able to see well enough to commit their crimes...
Ok, no I don't know if any of these things are really applicable but I hope you see my point. A whole lot of people and entities are in the background. Are any of them responsible in any way for the actions of the criminals? I think any *rational* person would easily say no, of course not. Yet far too many people are ready to hold firearms and ammunition manufacturers and sellers liable. It isn't good policy, it isn't good law. It sets a horrible, skewed precedent.
Years ago my niece was killed by a drunk driver. But it never occurred to my sister to sue Ford Motor Company or Shell Oil Company.
Not to put too fine a point on it, but they could if the person buying the liquor was visably intoxicated at the time of purchase. Bartenders have also be held liable for serving people way past the point. Just saying.
They know it was those SPECIFIC bullets that actually killed them?
Hi.
Everyone will now sue Ford, Chevy etc for DUI fatalities.
Sheesh.

What happens if the person who purchased the beer, wine, or hard liquor was sober at the time, and didn’t drink their purchase for a day or two, or longer?
This line of thinking with firearms and/or ammo could open up a Pandora’s box of litigation.
