I’m 52 and have 4 kids. I can’t think of hardly a person I know that has 4 kids or more.

I think the greatest factor for declining birth rate is abortion and birth control medicine. People “will have a baby when the time and finances are RIGHT”

LOL, 3 of my 4 kids were born/conceived during hard times for me.

Baby or BMW she asks herself... I can wait another year for a baby I think....

We decided to stop at 2.

Having kids is expensive.

And I was NOT going to go through another birth experience with my wife again.

It is too expensive to raise kids through college now-a-days. And young families are mobile, don’t always live close to their parents, so baby sitting and day care is another expense.

You’re right. I forgot The Pill. And Women’s Lib.

Djerassi recently said he wished he had not invented it as he saw the destruction of the family that resulted.

The Liberated Women who will end up as barren crones waiting out their lives in some run down “care facility” in the Mojave Desert will become an object lesson for the remnant younger generation. But they will be saturated with “don’t worry! live now, pay later!” messages...which won’t include Dying Alone. And irrelevant.

How many ancient civilizations figured this out over thousands of years? More then a few. We’re descended from them. But being much bigger Smarty Pants, we knew better...hah

Four children is unusual in today’s world. 62 and 7 kids, 11 grandchildren so far. One daughter has 5 and that’s all for her. One son has 3 but not done. Oldest daughter has 2 sons but likely no more due to health issues. Another daughter has one and wants more. Other three still have lots of time, but doubt any will have more than 3.

Yes father of four you are correct there’s very very few families with more - than two around my neighborhood

I happen to have three , one from a previous, but I can only count on one hand families that have more than two I do feel sorry for the only kids I don’t think you want to have just one
