Do We Even Need a Shot Now? COVID-19 Is Vanishing So Quickly in the UK that Their Vaccine Test Might Be Useless
Townhall ^ | 05/25/2020 | Matt Vespa

Well, North Carolina’s COVID death toll has been slashed big league. Florida was supposed to be awash with new bodies. That prediction, which was infused with a ghoulish sense of glee from liberal media folks, was made eight weeks ago. It has not happened. The curve has been flattened, deaths are dropping, and the hospitalizations have stabilized. The health care system has pressure on it, but that’s no longer the case. It’s time to re-open. The initial intent of the lockdowns was to flatten the curve. It’s been flattened. Now, to no one’s surprise, the Democrats in charge of states and localities hard hit by the initial wave of the coronavirus want people to stay inside. As this is happening, scores of businesses have suffered or closed. Millions are out of work.

Green line is tests. Red line is positives.

It's over.

Moreover, there was *never* a major COVID-19 problem in DC. pic.twitter.com/fctxqbYkMd— Jordan Schachtel (@JordanSchachtel) May 24, 2020

Ignore the bogus fear propaganda in the media. According to DC's own COVID-19 data, COVID patients are taking up 323 of 3,928 available hospital beds in DC's healthcare system. That's 8 percent (!) of total capacity. Significantly lower than flu season.https://t.co/CwC4oiOdmR— Jordan Schachtel (@JordanSchachtel) May 25, 2020

For the vast majority of the country, phase one of re-opening can occur. In fact, that’s most of the country by now, even New York City. Yet, for a bit, there was talk of normal life returning when a vaccine was developed. Common sense, yes—but news out of the United Kingdom shows that this virus is fading so fast that developers might not be able to produce a successful vaccine. I guess some can be worried that no vaccine can possibly be developed for COVID, but is it really devastating news when the cause is because the pathogen is—for lack of a better term—dying out? (via Sydney Morning Herald) [emphasis mine]:

The virus is fading so fast that pharma companies are considering scrapping vaccine trials.

It's over.

The only thing stopping us from going back to pre-COVID days are politicians, "public health experts," and a fear mongering media.https://t.co/Osaf5L0iNv— Jordan Schachtel (@JordanSchachtel) May 24, 2020

This follows a TV appearance by the infamous Scott Gottlieb admitting Pfizer (he's a Pfizer board member) may have to shelve vaccine trials due to lack of virus prevalence.

A tragedy for Bill Gates, Big Pharma, and those they have on the payroll, but good news for humanity.— Jordan Schachtel (@JordanSchachtel) May 24, 2020

An Oxford University vaccine trial has only a 50 per cent chance of success because coronavirus is fading so rapidly in Britain, a project co-leader has warned.

The warning comes as new data reveals that there are now 224 vaccines in development around the world - almost double the total of just a month ago.

Professor Adrian Hill said an upcoming Oxford vaccine trial, involving 10,000 volunteers, threatened to return "no result" because of low transmission of COVID-19 in the community.

The eyes of the nation — and perhaps the world — are firmly on Hill and his team at Oxford University.

This week, pharmaceutical giant AstraZeneca announced a $US1.2 billion deal with the United States to produce 400 million doses of an unproven coronavirus vaccine first produced in Hill's small Oxford lab. The British government has agreed to pay for up to 100 million doses, announcing that 30 million might be ready for British citizens as soon as September.

[…]

"It is a race, yes. But it's not a race against the other guys. It's a race against the virus disappearing, and against time," he said. "At the moment, there's a 50 per cent chance that we get no result at all."

Hill said that of 10,000 people recruited to test the vaccine in the coming weeks — some of whom will be given a placebo — he expected fewer than 50 people to catch the virus. If fewer than 20 test positive, then the results might be useless, he warned.

"We're in the bizarre position of wanting COVID to stay, at least for a little while. But cases are declining."

Another sign that leaders overreacted to this pandemic. And yes, I was one who did go overboard. It looks like that with every passing day. Hey, remember when President Trump said this thing would go away. Well, it's going away. Fast enough that it could render some vaccine trials useless. We want this thing to go away, but now we need to keep it around for a successful vaccine test. We're in crazy town. Some of you have noted from the beginning that we were on this trajectory.

As of now, how can one argue that we're not flying blind? On top of this, we have this face mask debate. It's gone from wear one to you don't need to, and now you should, but you can create one with a t-shirt. And after all that, it's not mandatory in some states which undercut the reasoning to ever think about face masks. The virus spreads on surfaces they said, but now actually maybe not as easily (via CBS News):

The Centers for Disease Control updated its guidance earlier this month to emphasize the coronavirus does not spread easily on surfaces, focusing more on human-to-human transmission. And new planning documents from the CDC contain more of its estimates about the transmission of the virus.

Touching surfaces and objects is now listed under the heading, "The virus does not spread easily in other ways" on the CDC web page.

Earlier, "Contaminated surfaces and objects" had appeared on the web page as a separate heading — just as "Person-to-person spread" does —even though the CDC does not believe that the virus spreads easily from surfaces and objects.

Either way, it’s time to re-open, even if a supposed second wave hits—keep it open.

I’m not trying to trigger a malfunction.

It was just an observation,
and my personal opinion.

Expanding upon my observation, it doesn’t take too
much research to figure out who some of the more
“questionably motivated” interests are, in the current
scaredemic.

This thread contains some interesting
(and alarming) links to begin with.

It is only prudent, and in line with our not yet
eliminated “Eternal Vigilance” thinking,
(which we cannot expect to endure, without),
to do a little research for ourselves.

In that vein, I’ll add that it is also prudent to
carefully examine and consider all the trial results
and history of any particular vaccine you may be
considering.

There have been no shortage of spectacular failures
and tragedies.

Everyone should Do their OWN research,
Draw their OWN conclusions,
Make their OWN decisions...
and Pray, Share, Discuss...
Or not.

You do you.

At the time that the "overreaction" occurred, it was in observance of the under-reaction by other areas - for example, Italy - resulting in their facilities being overrun, many doctors and nurses dying (100 doctors dying in Italy - obviously not typical), so many bodies their mortuaries and funeral services were overwhelmed, and needing the military to assist there were so many bodies to handle. There was no overreaction - there was simply an acknowledgement of the reality that had already occurred - facts and reality some wished to ignore and pretend wasn't occurring. Likewise, however, there are people ignoring the reality of how the disease is currently progressing and aren't letting go of where we were 6 weeks ago - as though we did not yet hit the apex, have not learned new treatments, have the equipment we need now, etc.

About a month ago, there were multiple reports indicating as the pandemic that was progressing the active strains of the virus were weakening. Assuming this is correct, yet another month has gone by, and if the trend continues, it could literally become another cold virus. Let us pray that is what occurs.

We should be able to get herd immunity with 72% who want the SARS vaccine. But I have to say I will not miss Robert Kennedy, Jr when he finally steps off the public policy stage.

"...if we hadn’t already had... we would search out the
appropriate friends and organize measles parties, mumps
parties, and chickenpox parties to ensure we developed
the immunity while we were young and strong.

~~~~~~~~~~~~
Indeed! I'm pretty sure that's how I got the measles and mumps!
I'm hoping we can pull our tyrants back from the brink and
get them to turn us loose, so we can avoid a great global
depression (or WW3, or CW2), and not have such parties
return to being pretty much our only means of defense.
We DO have some good, and in some situations, arguably
necessary vaccines for lots of things, but the industry is
a mess right now, and is rife with money and power mad
interests. We Must Choose Wisely. Pretty much every time.
I say that it is not unwise to do the homework on any
vaccine headed your way...
And blithely going along with a brand spanking new world
Global Contact Tracking and Tracing infrastructure and
300,000 tracking agents (to start with) in the deal as
well...
Not a Wise Choice.
Frankly, Robert Kennedy Jr is not one of my reps, I'm tired
and I couldn't tell you a lot about him right this second,
let alone whether he's pro population control, or not.
I should pay more attention to him, I suppose.
I've already looked into Gates and Fauci.
I'm not liking much of any of the naked agendas and
sloppy science (and WORSE!) I saw there.
Ripe Research Area, Indeed!
Just Say'n.
And as for that 72% you are crowing about wanting it...
(and I don't believe for a minute it is truly that many...)
I hope to convince more than a few of them to do their
homework first.
Thanks, and I have seen a lot, indeed. Starting with very little, but luckily from a large family of uncles and aunts and a homestead bankrupt by the dust bowl. Sounds bad, right? Actually, not bad at all, because everyone I knew was in the same boat, and we all worked together to produce everything we needed, food from gardens, milk cows, chickens, rabbits, hogs, etc., and sharing our excess with neighbors, hobos along the railroad tracks, church, and more.
That’s what freedom and liberty was all about back then. There were common sense rules, of course, and a small local government to make sure we were organized to keep the roads clear, businesses safe and the library and schools open, things like that. Welfare was provided through churches, and only through the government as a last resort. There were taxes then too, but much lower than now.
More importantly, there were very few regulations, restrictions, or rules about what we could do or how we did it. You didn’t need a license to open a barbershop or store, for example, or a permit to build a house or barn. I even remember selling excess vegetables and cream to a local grocery store, and my father trading a quarter of beef to a local butcher to package, freeze and store in his freezer the other three quarters for us.
Most importantly of all, we were on our own, and generally “problems” were simply opportunities to find and create new and better ways to solve them. Bullies and tyrants usually didn’t fare well then, because they had no large bureaucracy to hide behind and protect their authority. Sadly, that’s not the case today.
Were those the “good old days”? I wish we could get some of that back!
I really do think RFKjr is in it for the depopulation potential (particularly of deplorables) of getting rid of vaccines. He’s an eco-nut, and I seem to recall him being criticized for not practicing what he preaches with his own kids.
Certainly the science is a lot more straightforward for more humans dying due to disease in the absence of vaccines, than for any murky nonsense about contact lens preservative in minute doses causing autism, or unauthorized chipping of people through some sort of nanotechnology in our circulatory system that magically can give off signals without a power source that allows us all to be tracked around... or something. Vs dog and cat chipping under the skin and far away from the teeny tiny insides of blood vessels, that might be missed with a scanner at the vets office if it has shifted since implantation.
And remember President Trump said something to the effect of ‘it will disappear in a flash of light/quickly’.
I’m guessing a lack of ‘quality control’ in Chinese manufacturing processes meant some released virus was ‘high quality’ (like in New York and food processing facilities) and some was pure crap (like the stuff put out in Florida). But that almost all of it will fall apart sooner than ‘guaranteed’ for...
That said, it’ also possible they’ll have a second release with a sister virus that plays off the weakness this first one has caused...
