MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — The Minnesota Department of Public Safety says a tanker truck driver is in custody after speeding through protesters on the Interstate 35W Bridge in Minneapolis Sunday.
DPS officials say no protesters were seriously hurt. The driver, who was pulled out of the truck and attacked by protesters, was taken to Hennepin Healthcare with non-life threatening injuries.
There were thousands of people on the bridge when it came through at what appeared to be top speeds. The driver, according to scanner traffic, has been taken to Hennepin County Medical Center.
The crowd was part of a protest group marching against the death of George Floyd, and had taken position to take a knee on the bridge. They had been, up to that point, a peaceful protest.
Video from WCCO’s chopper showed what appeared to be a few on top of the semi cab trying to get the driver to slow down.

They said on FOX news just now the driver was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The video shows them open his truck doors and attack him. The news also said the DRIVER is being CHARGED with a crime!!!!
No mention of anyone else being charged for swarming the truck, opening the door, and putting him in the hospital.
The driver of a loaded tanker truck is responsible for more thermal energy than the entire non-nuclear bomb load of a B-52.

It was probably on a flyover. Speed limits are reduced on curves.
The traffic in that area usually runs about 70 mph especially on the weekend when there is little traffic. It’s the bridge that fell into the river about 10 years ago.

He only stopped because two people layed down in the middle of the freeway in front of him. He couldn’t kill them so he stopped. The short video shows this.
He was just trying to help them get to Wakanda.
The driver did not speed into the crowd. He slowed down and stopped and was then swarmed. The headline is a lie.
